Just wanted to share this with you guys.

I am in middle of completeing A10 Campaign, up to 5th mission, I think.

We had taken out all the road convey and were on way back to base, when I spotted a few T80s etc lurking not far from an airfield. Since my home airfield was approx 15nm away, and I was out of armament, I thought I could sneak onto spare airfield, re-arm and finish off the russions units.

There were some T80s about 0.5 nm from this airfield (cant remember name) though I didn't think much of it - wasn't like it was shilka.

I had just landed, when I noticed a shell land about 100m from me. Hmmmm I thought, WTF was that. Next thing, I'm blown up - end of mission.

Looking at the mission briefing screen, the T80 took me out with a shell!

Moral of story is: don't get too sneaky, you'll get you balls clipped off.

That is great! Hell I'd be relieved if I were that Russian tank crew.

modern Tanks have effective ranges of approx 3000-4000m so watch out

ROFL! Amusing indeed! I wonder what ED did to the T-80s to make 'em take potshots at a landing A-10.

If u make a mission in which some helis attack a tank convoi, and the helis AI is set to the lowest, they will sometimes be shot down by the tanks.

Just for the meaning of distance:

In WW2 some war ships had a weapons range of 30km !
So a good tank .. FIRE !!
