    A Plea for UBI to make a Real Police Hot Pursuit Game.

    Driver San Francisco was nearly perfect for me I love the realistic approach when it comes to handling of the cars and great detail put into them.
    If you guys rid of the Nitro and Shift and kept how Driver played this would be the best dam cops/racers game on the market.

    I hate criterion's spinoff on the Hot Pursuit series.

    I disagree. I really love the idea of shift, and boost.. well I don't know about singleplayer, but in the multiplayer it makes the games much more interesting.

    The car handling in D:SF is FAR from realistic. I agree it could definitely lose the Nitro though. I suppose I could live without Shift, too.

    And I think NFS is the best it's been in years thanks to Criterion.
    What the next DRIVER needs: Tighter, narrower streets for slower, more responsive cars as seen in D1,2,3. More 70s feel, possibly the entire game's setting. Keep 88mph top speed as the norm, with only bonus supercars going beyond. Get rid of Burnout as the default acceleration. Unlicensed Vehicles- so that they can be destroyed with explosions. On foot returning, with a version of shift as an unlockable. Weapons, with FPS controls like D3, only more polished. Hubcaps. Car underside pouncing. Offroad areas without invisible walls. All previous driver game cheats return plus a few surprises. All camera angles in D1 Film Director returning. Completely overhauled multiplayer, with virtually no 'boosting'. Finally, ability to play multiplayer offline,and with bots.

    Failing that, D1 and 2 as fully emulated games unlockable within Driver 6.

    I like the idea of being a cop, but DSF allows this already. Shift needs to stay, it's an awesome feature. It doesn't necessarily fit well into any other storyline about one character unless it's explained as it was with Tanner, but that's another story. I don't know how they can explain the shift feature with a storyline other than to repeat that Tanner is in a coma, or has supernatural abilities. In the end, I don't play Driver for the storyline anyway. It's the awesome gameplay that keeps me returning, even now, still plugging this game in to play.

    Although it may not be realistic, DSF at least feels like you're actually driving a car that can do what you want it to compared to simulators like Gran Turismo, which for the longest time, can't even do a full 360 spin, as if the car is on rails and won't allow for a full lock turn. Because of that, GT is highly overrated as a real "car simulator". Real cars are much more flexible, and DSF captures the thrill of driving better than GT.

    Driver SF2, include: Everything from DSF and... More freedom to explore: Open Parking Lots, Offroad hills, forests, bring us into a Rural Setting, customizable options, lots of RAMPS again and corkscrew wooden bridges across ponds, Sportbikes too. And please lose the lame roadside rails, so we can REALLY go off road and fly off without hitting invisible walls.

    When I say Driver is far from realistic, I mean that as the highest form of compliment. Too often realism=boring.

    I thought shift was excellent in D:SF's singleplayer, but as you say, it's hard to bring it back without cooking up another coma story, which would by then seem pretty contrived. I could take or leave shift, but if it does return, I'd prefer it as just a nifty feature that the game doesn't feel the need to explain- much like the film director.
