    SCB Potential Missions/Locale

Since everyone is talking about features, I thought it would be nice to talk about some of the missions or locales that we would visit. What sort of places do you guys think that we may visit? Whether it's outdoors, like PT, or indoors. What places do you guys think the missions would be in? What time of day? What setting? We all know the place in the demo but obviously there are more. What places do you guys expect? You can talk about some of the places that were teased and shown by shadowfox.

I keep thinking about a place, as an inspiration from the demo and some Hitman aspect but can't seem present the place. Another idea was from GRFS, night mission at the airbase. Well, I listed a few examples below that would be cool.

    To start,

One of the place maybe in Myanmar. I assume the Chinese Embassy level in SC1 would occur again. Indonesia from PT may appear again too. Maybe some urban area in China or Europe. Moscow maybe one.

You can describe the locale and describe potential objectives and equipments. Just thought it would be nice to discuss something like this. Whatever we discuss may be similar to the missions that are going to be in the game. So it helps to expect what we expect. It's also a little fun.

    Here's an example,

Myanmar mission, may not be the Chinese Embassy but maybe on the street like the first mission of the Chinese Embassy. Possible Objective: Meet a contact.
Gadgets: Same as in SC1, SC-20K or other weapons, pistol, crossbow with sticky shockers, etc.
Feels like Hitman in a way but a spy feeling, meeting contacts, wondering in the streets, blend in to the crowds. Importantly, a stealth mission. I expect something close to the social aspect in the Kobin's Mansion mission and the first part of the SCB E3 demo, camouflage and blending in with enemy clothes. I am sure not every mission in SCB is a real mission with the suit. It can be sneaking around and hitting guards exactly like in SC1 (not exact mission but similar activities).

Jungle mission, may be similar to PT.

Maybe a civil war area? Doesn't happen these days but maybe in Kinshasa like DA and other places.

Doesn't hurt to see what is to be expected and have some fun in this. Devs may take a few ideas or so.

I like that idea Sam. But to expand on it, I'd like to see Fisher wearing civilian clothes instead of the suit. Maybe the economy system could play into this somehow. No matter what mission you're on Fisher wears the suit but he'll be wearing clothes that match the enviroment. So like the demo he starts off wearing the robe then switches to his suit.

The same could happen in urban missions. He wears civilian clothes over his suit allowing him to blend in and at the simple tap of a button changes into the suit but you can only do it once. After that you have to use the suit. So if you change clothes inside a public restroom then you have to use the shadows to get past the crowds of civilians without anyone being alerted to your presence.

The way it would work is like this: you access your weapons and clothes through the SMI. When you pick your clothes you have a choice of wearing something that the ordinary civilians are wearing (t-shirt, jeans) or something that a homeless person wears (dark jacket with hoodie, dirty jeans, fingerless gloves). Personally I'd go for the homeless person look because no one ever really pays attention to them (which is sad to be honest) and a guy like Fisher would know that anonymity is his best weapon. His enemies wouldn't expect him to look like he sleeps in a cardboard box so they'd be watching everyone else. It would be like the original build for Conviction where Fisher had the scruffy beard and the dark hoodie.

I know this probably isn't the right place for it but I'd like to see improvisation from him. Seting off car alarms, breaking windows, stealing and using mobile phones to distract the enemy. That could all come into the urban type mission. The missions in Malta and the foot chase in Conviction were some of my favourite missions because Fisher wasn't really in his natural enviroment.

Anyway I'd also like to see a foot chase across several rooftops. It starts off as a normal mission (stealth, infiltration) then turns into a chase between Fisher and his target. Rain would be pouring down give it that extra element of danger. Thunder and lightning gets thrown in to make it more atmospheric. Enemies try to stop Fisher by blocking his path and shooting at him. Multiple ways to reach the target (drop down into the buildings and sprint through corridors to reach the other side, climb up the fire escape and the chase is back on). That is a mission I would love to see.

Omg that sounds beast! kind of like that bit in casino royal where he's chasing that guy about on rooftops and using the active sprint thing the showed at E3! Oh and he can't just shoot him because he had to take him in alive and he ran away from him, that would make for a great mission

I was thinking more along the lines of Bourne Ultimatum but yeah the Casino Royale sequence is on the same lines. Bond even does the slide move and drops through a hole to the next floor. The reason why I think the Bourne scenario would work better is because the Casino Royale bit was very OTT. I certainly wouldn't like to see Fisher jump from one crane to another. That's a little too much for me. The reason why I like Splinter Cell is because it's slightly realistic.

The best part of the Bourne foot chase was when he used the sheets to get himself over the broken glass. That would be awesome to see in Blacklist. You have to time it just right and press the pick up item at the correct time to grab the sheets otherwise you've gotta stop and you'll lose the fluidity of the chase. Obviously there are other ways you could go during the chase (street level through traffic and people, jumping over the enviroment, inside buildings, room to room) but sprinting across the rooftops would be the most challenging and thrilling because of the danger level of the situation. The way it could work is if you end up on the ground Grim gives you directions in real time so you have to make quick split second decisions and turn right or left whenever she tells you otherwise you'll lose precious time. It wouldn't be one of the missions where you can stop and admire the view, instead you have to get from A to B, any way you can as fast as you can.

Think of it as a time trial. You can actually get ahead of the target and cut him off so if you're fast enough at the start and go left instead of right you can end the chase in a matter of seconds. Obviously you wouldn't get to see the map and you could miss out on valuable gameplay and story tools. So if you end the chase at the start then you could miss out on one of those moral choices Max Beland was talking about. It would be really innovative. I don't know the mechanics of how it would work but it could work depending on how they choose to do it.

I've some up with another mission I'd like to see.

The Burj Khalifa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It's the tallest building in the world with 163 floors. Think of the Shanghai mission in the current gen version of Double Agent.

The mission starts off with Fisher entering the hotel through the lobby wearing an Armani suit. His mission is to steal valuable data from a terrorist. He goes up to the 138th floor which is a mechanical floor where he changes into his stealth suit. After cutting through the glass he begins to free climb (no ropes) up the building to the 154th floor where the terrorist is meeting with a client or whoever. Fisher uses a radio mic to eavesdrop on the meeting before climbing to the roof to get back inside the building. He sneaks back down to the meeting room and hacks into the laptop the terrorist was using and steals the data. The rest is up to you. Either sneak back out of the building or get into a firefight with the bodyguards. Depending on your actions earlier in the mission you may not have a choice and have to fight your way out.

Of course you could do the mission anyway you wanted but scaling the building would be the most rewarding as technically you would be ghosting through it. I know it's a bit like Mission Impossible 4 but you've gotta admit it would be a good mission.

Cool. I think that is in Mission Impossible 4 movie. Great movie btw. I don't know who copy who, MI4 copying DA or DA copying MI4 Though the obvious answer is MI4 copying DA since DA came out first.

Anyways, that's a cool mission. Always nice to have old mission feel again. Though it would be cool if Sam rappels from the roof. It can be like MI3 where Sam parachutes from one building to another and rappels down to the floor he needs to go.

Hey, that gives me an idea. Since we can play the way we want, we can have our own insertion and extraction. I would love to do the same in MI3 where he jumps from one building to another. Then play through the mission/infiltrate the hotel anyway we want. Whether it's infiltrating stealthly by rappelling in and sneaking around or sneaking through the lobby or going gun blazing through the hotel like a maniac. XD Hehe, it would be funny but fun. Kinda like GTA or Payday shooting through the bank. Huh, great fun.

BTW, why no one compares Sam Fisher with Ethan Hunt? He's a great spy anyways. Probably more stealthy than Bond or Bourne.

I would love it if we could insert / extract however we wanted. That's one thing the other games were missing. I think the one thing I'd like to see the most is swimming. I mean Fisher is an ex Navy SEAL so to have a few missions where he inserts into the mission by swimming would be pretty awesome.

I think Fisher from the old games is more like Ethan Hunt but in Conviction he's more Bourne / Bond. I'd love to see a mixture of them. Well that's what we're getting anyway with the ghost, panther and action playstyles.

+1 I love to see swimming too. And also location of insertion and extraction. Gives a little sandbox play. I would love to see an alternate extraction point should something go wrong with the primary one. If the devs can't give us a location to extract or insert with, they can do this. They want to go action anyways, so make it something go wrong with the primary extraction and we have to find alternative. The battery mission in CT was kinda similar but both the missile place are similar, so it's not really unique for extraction.

Swimming in DA was great but I guess some old gen fans missed out on it. I would love to see it again or play it again. Swimming is an awesome gameplay.

Yeh, Sam is like Ethan but goes on more crazy missions.

That brings up a good question - What will insertion/extraction be like if we're up in the Paladin before each mission? Will we parachute into most missions? Will the Paladin land at airfields and have a car take us to some insertions? I'd like to see a beach insertion via a watercraft of some kind.
