Yep, SX has a pretty good cost/benefit ratio. We got a SX bass and my spare (drop D) guitar will probably be a SX strato, since guitar prices in Brazil are around double what they are in the States.

I was curious about the SX basses - is it pretty good? I ended up getting a used Ibanez instead, but definitely looked at the SX basses. There just aren't as many reviews on them as there are for the SX and Agile guitars.

I have an Agile 3200 semi-custom on the way (due by end of month.) Spec-wise it blows any comparably priced Epiphone out of the water and quality is supposed to be excellent being built in Korea vs. China for the Epiphones. I'm pretty excited about it.
My pick-up toggle switch has 3 modes: Swank, Extra Swank, and Super Swank

Well, if you already have a Strat style guitar, why not get a Les Paul style. I love both my LP's.

    Phalaris.

I guess Agile is the high-end line of the SX manufacturer, right? Like Lexus and Toyota?

I am pretty satisfied with the SX bass, although I am not an expert. My fiancèe took it to her class and her teacher was positively impressed with it. He is a professional bass performer with a band that plays on TV shows. He said we need to take it to a luthier to sand some frets, but he said this is needed for every brand new bass. I decided for the SX because the wood is pretty good. They say it is the same as the Fender. Not sure now, but I think it is American Swamp Ash. I liked the neck and if we want to kick it up a notch we can just change the pickups.

Cool - glad to hear the SX basses are good too. They certainly seem to be worth the price they are available for based on what you are saying.

I found this out the hard war myself. I also manage to detune myself while playing with mine occasionally, mostly because I'm an uncoordinated git but other people may be like me =P
