start uplay > go to settings > turn off cloud sync

start uplay > go to settings > always start in offline mode

The uplay platform pc came out 3 months ago, give it time, they may suprise you and be able to fix it. If they were to have other thrid parties put their games on the platform, they need to be sure that the uplay platform is really good with no bugs in it. Right now there are bugs in it, since it is a new platform for pc. I think its a good platform with earning points for things you do in the game. Give it time.Also with the DRM they need to be sure that there is no pirating of their game, that is why they have the DRM on the Uplay. There is the old saying, "Rome was not built in a day".

I got one tip for the people who rage about UPlay or Ubisoft...

Why don't you start your own gaming company? You can now do it for free as some engines (Unity3D for exemple) and programs (For textures, sounds, etc.) are free to use.
Ho... wait! You might not understand anything about how a game is made, protected and distributed? You might not have a dime for it as your priority is to play game, not make them.

If you think Ubisoft could be better, why don't you make something better? If you can't, shut up and wait like anybody. You paid a product from that company on YOUR own will. If their services doesn't make you happy move away or do whatever you want, but blamming them is actually blamming you for being unable to do anything at all as useless as you might be. You might think "But I can't play this or that game unless I use UPlay crap or use a pirated version"... then guess what? That's the price to pay to play those game and that's it.

If you don't agree with this, you got 3 choices :

- Contact Ubitsoft for a solution. They will decide how much ressources your problem worth. It might be none or a 5 min used to quicly and cheaply respond to your problem.
- Start your own business and beat the crap out of Ubisoft on their own field.
- Wait for (any holy/divine being you might believe in) to make it rain some games you have dreamed about.

DRM has been proven to not prevent pirating, at all, and has in fact been proven to encourage pirating. A purchasing system like Steam has led to almost nil pirating on the grand scheme. Uplay is painful. There is no point (no pun intended) for points in the game, it should be built in to the game itself.

It's a simple business model. More DRM = less sales and pirating. There are a couple studies out that confirm this.

Start my own gaming company? Your kidding right? Ubisoft has some quality game titles. I'd like to support them. Fun fact that I did send feedback after searching for over an hour for a link to give feedback.

I don't want Ubisoft to fail at all they have great titles. Uplay and the DRM is beyond terrible and is decreasing their sales. My motivation is to give feedback to them and hopefully get rid of Uplay and so forth so that the franchise(s) can succeed in the future.
