got some gems off the forums fixing some problems, but i cant get my x52 throttle set. games doesnt seem to respond to it. i am setting it under axes throttle. any ideas? thanks

Mine works fine. Have you checked it in Windows Game Controllers to make sure the throttle axis is actually working?
If it is, in the game go to the throttle axis setting and make sure the zero position slider is at or near the left end, max position slider at or near the right end and all three deadzone sliders at or near the left end.

ok, one problem solved. now i have a huge solid grey square in the top left. cant seem to make it go away. also, whats the easy way to acces the map without haveing to right click the screen and click again to make it go away. thanks

For the grey rectangle: Alt-leftclick to select, right click for context menu, select "Close Window <window name>".

The map control (default is M) should be a toggle. M to open map, M to close map. If it's still playing up after you close the grey rectangle, let us know.

making progress. do you know of any problems alt/tab in and out of the game that causes the controls to go dead? my throttle control dies if i alt/tab out of the game. also when landing if i cut power way back the throttle control is lost.

cant seem to get the gear down. tried keyboard commands and buttons on the stick. dont worry, only about 50 more cmds to go. sigh.

For the gear, what aircraft? I don't recall which might have manual gear controls or fixed gear.
Alt-tab is generally not supported in games, I know for sure it wasn't in the old IL2 series. It works for me, but that's no guarantee it'll work for everyone. Not sure why you're losing throttle cutting right back, unless the aircraft you're flying has throttle that goes low enough to cut the engine.

me 109. whats the diff between toggle gear and lower gear?

Toggle gear will put it up when it's down or put it down when it's up. Lower gear will put it down but not bring it up. Not sure about the throttle on the 109 but I don't think it should cut the engine if you pull it right back.

unable to raise or lower gear, ive tried buttons on the stick and buttons on the keyboard. very frustrated with this. any ideas? my controls work some missions and some they dont. i really dont get it. i pull my throttle back and i lose my throttle control. at that point i cant even turn my engine off. i give up on the 109 for now.

110 i cant move the oil rads for some reason. also, no chocks or tail wheel lock for a 110?
