I've lost count of how many times I've done a leap of faith when I didn't want to and then had to climb all the way back up. Sometimes I want to parachute down to another building. Is there a way to avoid a leap of faith when jumping?

Try jumping in a direction that doesn't have a Hay Cart below . If there's a Haybale when jumping forward. Jump to the left or right instead and then steer the parachute around to where you want to go.

That doesn't really work. Pressing RT+A does a leap if there's a leap spot anywhere nearby. Most of the time I don't know it's there anyway.

Pidgeons indicate leap of faith spots. Wherever you see pidgeons, there's most likely a haybale underneath. Just steer clear from them and you should be fine.
