Will Far Cry 3 be banned in Australia?

All the Australians that are reading this most likely know about the extremely strict and ridiculous rating systems currently employed in Australia.

Many of the most sought after games end up being simply banned because of our classification system only went up to MA15+. Although the legislation has been passed for a R18+ classification, it will not come into effect until next year.

I guess based off the Australian Government. It probably will be banned due to being fun...... oops I mean too violent. They could not have that in their Country. It will have blood, strong language, nudity, strong violence, etc. Anything that could allow them to ban it.

I hope they do not ban it in Australia. Everyone should be allowed to injoy this game.

Do you have a console or PC? Beacuse, if you have a console, you could still order retail online from somewhere else and play singleplayer?

Yeah it will probably get banned but they can get it still only they cannot sell it in the shops or digital distribution

You know where you are? ... Your in the jungle baby...... Your gonna die.....

    A good First-person Shooter should:

    - have precise, manual controls - e.g. no auto-aim
    - put balance, challenge and fun above realism
    - be full of fast-paced real-time action
    - let cunning, intelligence and skill decide who wins (PvP)
    - have simple mechanics: easy to learn but difficult to master

Never though of that. But I think that if they were to ban the game, they would most definitely find a way to ban it via DD as well.

Looks like we have some mixed opinions in here. If it is banned in Aus, I think I will actually cry...

It has a very high potential to get banned now that we know it has sexual content. Violence is one thing, but when media sees sex, they LOSE THEIR MINDS. Who knew that having sex is like 100000000x worse that killing people. Americans (and the rest of the planet alike, cause American media like movies and games are mainstream globally essentially, effecting and imputing american ideologies and norms into almost all other cultures) are just too squeamish and uncomfortable with their sexuality, making a big deal out of it when it pops up in games.

Also its cause most people who don't play video games in their 40s and 50s associate video games with young children (between 6 and 12) cause that is when they would have played games in their own lives, so when sex is mentioned to be in the game, they auto assume by juxtaposition (cause they associate games with 8 year olds) that they are marketing this nudity to kids, when the truth is its more to that of people aged 16 to 40. So all those non-gamer parents of children start going "rabble rabble rabble children will see rabble rabble" once they find out.

Just thinking of the "Wish you were here edition" of far cry 3.... How Ironic that title for this steelbook and packaing if it got banned!?!.

    will this get cancelled?

If they cannot get this in Austrailia because it is banned they had better sell this in the UK so Austrailians can post it over to their buddies from the UK

So the govt might ban it because of a bunch of Sheila's in the game? That's insanity....
(Currently writing an appeal letter to the Queen of England).
