I've been having this issue for several months now on my 360 and I'd really appreciate it if Ubisoft could address this. Affects both guitar and bass modes.
Basically it turns out that my DLC is pretty much destroying my game from the inside out.. Navigating the song list has become a complete nightmare on my copy. It takes forever to load, sometimes while scrolling through it'll snap all the way back to the beginning, often times DLC doesn't even show up on the list, and VERY frequently songs will duplicate themselves on the list:

To give you an idea, say I'm looking for "Smooth feat. Rob Thomas". Scrolling to the right, I'll get "Painkiller, Plug in Baby, Plug in Baby, Plug in Baby, Pumped Up Kicks, Pumped Up Kicks" then the next song will be somewhere in the dead middle of the S section. Lets say Superfreak. So now I'll have to go backwards. In which case it'll go something like "Subdivisions, Pumped Up Kicks (skipping over the song I'm looking for), Plug in Baby, Painkiller, Oye Como Va, Next Girl, Pumped Up Kicks.." and I'm forced to just scroll back and forth trying to get my song to show up. At some point getting snapped all the way back to the A section, forcing me to scroll alllll the way back and endure this process repeatedly until "Smooth feat. Rob Thomas" finally decides to show up on the list..

Just a few moments ago I literally spent about half an hour trying to get Misery to show up on my song list. It seems that every time I download a new song or pack, my game gets progressively less stable. Restarting my game/console, clearing the cache, and reinstalling the game did absolutely nothing for me. I don't care if they have to turn the song selection screen into some sort of MS-DOS prompt to fix this. I just want to be able to play my songs!!

I'm on PC version but I notice this happens sometimes if I let it scroll real fast. Have you tried just scrolling through in shorter bursts? Maybe go from A to D, stop for a second, D to I, etc. I know it's not a fix but it doesn't get scrambled for me if I do it like that.

I got this to. and its worse as you add dlc, the trick is set the game away, get to the journey screen and select songs, go and make a coffee, then when you come back it has pulled all your dlc from the bag and has it ready to show in the list, otherwise you get what you have been, your trying to scroll whilst the memory is still filling up the shelf so to speak.
