Yea couple problems with this game. Dont like how when im in the riff repeater it tends to freeze up when i miss a note, doesn't happen alot but often enough it does. 2nd problem, while doing bends the game shows inaccurate pitch of what im bending and sometimes doesn't show me bending at all and other times when i know i failed the bend it gave it to me anyway which highly frustrating. the precision tuner isnt that accurate either, it will say im tuned up but in fact several of the strings are flat causing problems trying to learn these songs. after playing a song if u wanted to go back to learn a section u got to scroll through the whole songlist, it shouldn't be like that. riff repeater is flawed too there should be a way to set ur own tempo and be able to play that riff over and over if desired and should be able to put riffs together so insead of learning riff by riff u can learn the transitions to the next part otherwise u may be able to play each riff at 100% but when playing the song u will struggle at the transitions of each riff. other problem w/this game is game is that there is no indications of what tempo ur on, & doesnt show the time signatures & would be helpful if it displayed rests & what notes u are playing (meaning 8th notes 16th notes etc..).oh thre are alot of songs that dont have the other guitar tab (combo arrangements) on there either that should be there. despite this it is a game that is fun but its counter intuitive for learning because without that other stuff thats all it is a game, its not practical for learning. I would suggest but i know it wont happen, but instead of following rockband & guitar hero where the notes come at u having them side scroll is more intuitive being how in music ur taught to read ahead of the music so u know what notes are coming, its easier that way for most, the other way is more eye catching and engaging but again not practical, at least would like the option. the game needs to be more informational too, especially for beginers, covering theory, exercises, timing and techniques, the challenges should be geared towards more practical use for theory timing exercises and techniques.
Just had my first few game lock ups since patch. Right after I hit level 6 on bass career which was right around where the problems were with guitar before. Happened when I picked a random song. Locked up. Then when I went to do an event. Same thing. I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Although it's not listed in the manual there is an indication of tempo in the game. Granted, it doesn't spell everything out, but if you look as the fret numbers come down the note highway they hit the strings on the one beat. From there it's pretty easy to figure out the tempo and what notes you are playing by where they fall.
I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to remember that some songs will have the numbers hitting on 1 and 3. I think there's only a couple of those.
Well, I finally went back to my original PS3 account to play guitar. I had stopped using it since it froze all the time. Played the set to continue the journey. Made it through all songs and an encore. Then it froze. I know they're working on this game but it is pretty ridiculous to come out with a patch for a "fix" and it actually does basically nothing to fix anything. Maybe the people that are working on add-on songs and expansions that we're paying for should start working on fixing these core problems that make this so frustrating to play.
I also had a weird first time bug playing space oddity on bass. The song played fine but the guitar was missing from the mix completely. More bugs.
This has been around since the game came out. But post patch it is much much worse. I don't know if its bass only or not yet. I've only played bass events since the patch and I'm getting the video laggies long before I got it in my guitar career event path. The larger the venue the worse it gets. But I'm getting it sooner (in much smaller venues) than I did prepatch. No idea if this is just bass or will also occur when playing guitar in same venue.
Hi all,
I noticed a strange bug. I play the game with the Xbox 360 and the august 14th patched version. It happened when playing the game on the guitar (NOT bass).
On the Journey mode, I played the song "Boys Don't Cry" 3 times without a qualifying score for concert. Then the game asked me the question if I want to lower the qualifying score for this song. Ok, cool BUT I had no way to say "no". On the pop up, hitting button "A" is to accept, hitting button "X" is to decline. I tried to hit button "X" a few times but nothing happened. I tried the other buttons like "B" or "Back" without success. I wanted to keep the score the same. I had NO CHOICE to hit button "A" to accept it.
Just to validate the bug, on the Journey mode I played the song "Playing With Fire". The third time I intentionnally miss the qualifying score just to see. Then the same behaviour occured. No way to decline the offer to lower the concert qualifying score.
I remember that before the august 14th patch I seen this pop up question and I could decline the offer. So before the patch this bug was not there (or now this bug is more propitious because of other factors).
I have not found people having this bug on this official forums. Is it only my game save (corrupted or something?)?
Finally, what impact it has on my journey in the game? I mean the fact that I lowered the concert qualifying score for 2 songs. Will I miss something in the game? I read that lowering the concert qualifying score has impact on the concert encores. What it means?
Any help?
Jonathan
