Sequel to Prince of Persia 2008 (v-5)

So, here we go with a new sequel thread (the 4th version already reached 101 pages...)
To make a summary, we didn't get anything official on E3, but there were rumors and leaked screen shots to a supposed POP game.
Yesterday, Vali (Blueobelix) shared with us a leaked screen shot from POP zero 2, wich is supposed to be a work in progress POP...

It seems they are really trying to copy God of war in terms of Protagonist and Assassins creed in terms of Graphics & Wall run by the looks of buildings...Honestly this Game is looking like "Prototype 2" with Historical Egypt Background...Do we really need a GORE genre in Prince of Persia?...Our old Prince of Persia is still more Kick-*** then this Guy...The only question which is still I want an answer from Ubisoft is that Why they Abandoned the "Prince of Persia 2008" sequel...I want Gaming Media to ask this question on Fans Behalf..why they first created a Game with new storyline (which I enjoyed) and cell shaded Graphics(which I fell in love) and without DRM which resulted in massive Piracy that Ubisoft is still shame to show the PC sales figure to public and last no DLC for PC version..and NOW they are on NEW REBOOT??? ..we need an Answer and also with answer we need a proper sequel of Prince of Persia 2008..after that you can reboot the series with this "Prototype 2" Kinda looking Game and I will not utter a single word for it at all..I swear to Ormazd.

I agree on that one. I want to hear gaming journalists ASK these questions when they get the chance. When FS came to light, there were a few who asked the question, but they didn't get an answer. the implication seemed to be that FS wasn't related to the direction of the series; it was more just fan service. Kind of an experiment too. But now, it's time for them to ask seriously again, and if Ubi gives the same answer as last time, ( "we're not necessarily done with it, you''ll see" ) it's time to get tough and say "We waited last time and all we got was this. When will we get this game we've been waiting for?"

I personally wonder how long it'll be before they realize making a sequel was their best option all along and that wlaking away from it wasn't something people were just going to forget about. -__-

How do you know? You just saw the new guy from the back in a single screenshot. I don't know how you can judge a game which wasn't even announced yet.

What I can tell by this one screenshot is one thing: A guy who doesn't look like the sterotypical action hero. I for one never played a game with a dark skinned guy who already has grey hair.

Everything else? No idea. Let's wait until they announce the game and tell us what it's about and what the gameplay is like. Everything I can see now is hate. Not about the new game, but hate that they don't continue PoP2008. Really: I already saw people complaining that the new game is not like Warrior Within. How the **** do they know?

I am also disappointed that PoP2008 will not be continued. But I wont hate a game which isn't even announced yet because of this.

Yeah I understand that the hate for an Unreleased game is not good but if you read my post then I also said that if they give us a sequel of Prince of Persia 2008 which ends the cliffhanger of his story then I will not utter a single word for this new reboot...lol..well as a fan I can say that, can I?

I guess part of it is that people aren't anticipating a surprise. In the past, Ubisoft has managed to wow people with surprising new ideas and an impressive effort exerted to make their games. Lately though, one thing about their games seems to be that they aren't a surprise anymore. Seems like we've been getting exactly what the algorithms of general game design project. Given that, I think people are seriously hoping for a surprise that will change their opinion, but have long since stopped holding their breath.

Even so, if it really does pull something genuinely intriguing, I think most of the flak will go away and the only grumbling will be aimed at the "company" itself.

Me too. It deserves a sequel, it's a beautiful game, beautiful history. I swear that they worked on a sequel but then they canceled it, but.. why?

Well, apparently, they started work on it and it became too unlike PoP 2008 to work, so they made it into Forgotten Sands Wii instead.

So the real question, I guess, would be why didn't they try again? Also, why did they start the sequel on on ONLY platform the first game WASN'T available on?
