Will we ever see a new PC game worth playing?

The way I see it gaming died with the advent of the kiddie boxes. What ever happened to actually playing a game and having to use some skill to play. Now it's just a bunch of interconnected cutscenes. No brainer's. The box tells you just what to press and when and how many times............f..........f.........f........... ..f.....e...e............e.......e... Wow what fun! And just what do we need to keep upgrading our computers for? To play a game that they are playing on junk!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right junk. We need to have all this computing power to convert the codes back to PC from X-crap or POS3. They are written on a computer for God's sake!

Two thing's we need to do: 1.) Form a union of PC gamer's. United boycotts will end this kind of crap in a hurry.

2.) No ports allowed. When we find out it's a port we just no buy. That doesn't mean that the game is only for computer or PC. It just means that
they should be written system specific. If what I suggest kill's PC gaming then so be it. I'd rather not play than have to play baby games with a
    six axis controller.

OK I've vented once again. Now let's make it a reality. All ideas and suggestion's will be welcome. In the meantime I will see about a website we can use. I'm retired so I can spend alot of time doing this. Let's at least give them a run for our money!

I'm all for it,I think you have the right idea, but I also know from research that it's so much eaiser for a game developer to make the game for the PC first then backwards port it to console.
with that being said, the question is why do companys like Ubisoft go about it the hard way??

ive often thought they need to make an OS for pcs and maybe macs that is just for gaming/chat. microsoft has been talking about it for years ie the for windows gaming bs but thats an idea ive always toyed with... very very basic just for gaming so maybe u dual boot it with ur reg OS and not having to worry about 1000 other processes going on so all of the power of your machine is put towards the game and not the other million things on while your playing it...

i do like the idea of a union of pc gamers, and unfortunately from all the many years of pirating games most company are concerned with the consoles even tho there just as bad if not worse than pc now...

and as for porting games, porting is fine just dont release it until its not in a beta stage and were paying to test it for you and as i mentioned earlier go balls deep in the games your making dont just half *** them to get them out and make money, perhaps you would make more if you put all your momentum towards 1 game at a time, or had more actual beta testing prior to releasing a game.

and again this game could trump 1000s others currently out there, but the match making system is flawed for pc, dedicated servers should just be a standard for gaming these days or atleast host are own dedicated servers, ability to mod games so atleast we would make are own new maps and make it like a dlc so you can still make some money from it and we can still enjoy your games more...

i still stand by the fact that this game is by far one of the best it just to me only feels half done or not well thought out, or perhaps id hate to say it make money and move onto the next project, personally i give everyone and every company the benefit of the doubt agasint such bad ideas but things do make you wonder...

lets have people weigh in with positive comments and or ideas to help these problems so the devs for this game can the changes we need

Gaming lost the game as soon as big corporations and investors saw the amount of money that was able to be made. Mainly FPS was juiced by CoD and lost the base weapons which made the game skillful. Instead it turned into all the weapons being generic with attachments and kill streaks and this and that. Skill gone. The big bucks came about as soon as the first profit margin was released by Blizzard from their World of Warcraft initial year. And since then companies are chasing their genre of choice.

Gaming now is solely about $. DLC, expasions that force a purchase to continue playing (because of maps etc). Alot of the time gaming companies will refrain from PC market because FPS is owned by BF and CoD, MMO Blizzard, and nothing can compete with those companies. Blizzard merged with Activision and EA games has a strong enough base to follow up with 3PFPS and those car jacking games to support their attempt at nicking into the FPS market.

So smaller companies struggle to stay afloat, such as ubisoft, they move towards focusing on an easy and determined market. Consoles - first of all their need for proper testing of a product is removed because the programming is strictly the same for each console and so is the hardware. So already they increase their profits by removing the need for testing on multiple systems and the effects and maintenance to ensure the game is ongoing correctly.

Unfortunately you get alot of ports to PC regardless without testing - the latest GR is a perfect example. It is so critically broken that ubisoft werent even remotely prepared or able to comprehend what to do to resolve the issues within a decent turn around from retail release.

Why port in this manner? Extra cash, and that's all the PC community is now to alot of focused console gaming companies - extra profit. We are not their concern and the number of games made solely for PC has declined so greatly that the PC gaming community itself feels neglected. We try out the console ports but time and time again are dissapointed.

At the end of the day my list of no buy companies is growing greatly. Ubisoft has been added most recently. Not a big issues because most of their titles are console only with a PC port, generic rinse and repeat story lines that I've seen so many times done better in my decade of gaming.

Thatll do for now I guess.

The problem is greed and only a few developers in the world actually care about their products take that into consideration. You simply cannot make a console port game without defects, it's been proven that it fails by now, and if it doesn't fail miserably from a technical aspect it is because it is technically limited in what it can do on the pc which simply isn't pc gaming. Most people don't even realize that xbox360 still uses directx9 only. xbox does not even utilize dx10 or dx11.

You need to develop them completely separate to get quality results for all platforms. This is a huge problem especially for games that have triple platform release dates in all the same time frames. Ultimately in the end all 3 of them usually get screwed in some way or fashion, or the pc takes the larger hit in terms of bugs and technical problems or technical limitations that they shouldn't have.

It's just a sad truth. Sometimes it's so bad that there are massive issues like this game has where it isn't even playable for some people. Other console ports that actually work properly on the pc are almost always technically limited (aka console port) and don't even include basic options such as FoV.

It all comes down to greed, and time frames. It's sad because developers that start out great, get bigger, the company gets bigger, the more money it starts generating, the worse the games get because they just stop caring and are in it for the money, so they release the games knowing there are problems, or knowing it wasn't fully tested.

I like GRFS's campaign mode, thought it was great. Although it did work for me, so I can't blame others for being upset if it doesn't work for them. As far as multiplayer goes? Weeeeeell.....ummmmm....doesn't work so great. Indeed I can not play more than one round without losing connection the server, and care rarely manage to connect to any games even though I turned off my firewall completely (from Win 7 AND my actually router). BUT, I am going to continue playing once it's fixed. Until then I'm just kind of putting it aside. As far as other games? ARMA series definitely. Spec Ops the line was.......well......I don't like it. Played it once and uninstalled. The weapons just didn't feel right, and that's a big no-no for me. I do kind of like Left 4 Dead 2, zombie games kind of have a special place in my brrrrrraaaains.

BF3 was a solid PC release outside of having to use Origin.

I stopped supporting Battlefield after BC2. Lack of LAN , free dedicated servers and Single Player MP match with bots turned me off the BF series.
BF3 seems to be on Digital Download for quite a high price with some of the great battlefield features removed and its fugly drm origin that doesnt even match steam in features.

WIth GRFS , p1ss poor p2p networking and uplay. I cant see myself buying anything with the tom clancy brand anymore either.
