I did get solo 3 up to 80%, but not mastered at that level yet.

My score is at 106K.

Ok, I played the song 3 times tonight. All 3 times were at 96%, and above 143k. So I think I can beat the top score currently posted (though I expect that score to go up given the 98%).

My latest score is here, I am at least in the ballpark now.

My son came home earlier from his vacation because of horrible weather, so he had the chance to practice some more on Jules. New score uploaded. He's still not mastered the song, but he's pretty close to getting the one missing part (the solo) leveled up to 100%.

I updated the spreadsheet with his new score. Apropos the spreadsheet: I noticed he seems to have "too few" points with the accuracy he played it at (96%), compared to the scores of other players in both Div 1 and Div 2. Is that because the song is not fully leveled up / mastered, or is he doing something "wrong" with regard to bonus scoring? He's just playing the song straight up, and not trying to do anything in particular with regard to timing, for instance.

And in short, the number of notes available increases sharply as you level that solo. My best accuracy (which I didn't post) is 95%, for 108K, but I also don't have Solo 3 leveled up super far, so there's a ton of notes missing, especially in this arrangement. I'm also not doing anything particularly special with timing in terms of groove bonuses.

Impressive work for him!

I'm guessing if he levels that last section his score may jump by 10K or more, based on the gap between the mastered/unmastered scores this week.

I finally got Solo 2 maxed this morning. Here is a pic of my crude RS notation that I use to help me practice & memorize songs outside of the game.

I'm runnin' out of B strings. I've broken over 6 B strings. I started using size 11 E strings, for my B string (on a set of 9-42s).

Why the B string? I mean I am bending the E string even more. Very odd.

I cannot get past that last "down hill" run, in solo 3. The one from the B string, down to low E, and then back up to the D string (then the end of the solo). I just crash and burn.

So close.

I'm officially out for this week. Got back from vacation, played through the song twice and my PS3 froze at the end both times. I'm gonna cut my losses before I throw something. Can't wait for Tuesday!!!!!!!

Make sure he checks out the scoring FAQ page to fully understand how scoring works. There are likely two big culprits at play... One is what KittenDaddy said: you get a TON more notes when that solo is fully levelled, so there's a lot of points left on the table for that. The second is groove bonuses which are explained in the scoring FAQ. Groove bonuses currently favor playing ahead of the beat (which i personally think is silly, and I hope the patch does something about that), so if he favors early vs. late he will likely score better as well.

This song has a lot of bends and sustains as well, so you get a lot of points if you hit all those properly as well.

Also, if he does get that Solo 3 up to 100% I say he should move up to Div 1 Congrats on the scoring so far on this!!

Well, I leveled up solo 3 twice in one 30 life run. I am at 90% now. I got the bump to 85%, on the first life. Then, on the 2nd to last life, I got "level up", which put it to 90%. The odd thing is, on the last bump, I was not done with the run yet. I was in the middle of wheedelin' on the green and orange strings, before that run I always crash on, when BOOM "level up". Oh, yeah! I'll take it!!!!

My last life I did not even make it through the tremolo pickin', but hey I got to 90% on solo 3!!!

BTW, I am an easy 300 lives (and 6 B strings) into solo 3. LOL!
