What ubi does not understand is that in pc world the console marketing model aka DLCs don't sell(unless Q3 reports prove me wrong). People are not familiar with this and it seems (and is) a rip-off.

UBI needs to rethink the strategy for Homm6:

    1) small part of DEV is focused on "keeping the lights on" aka fixing existing bugs and problems

    2) majority of DEV resource focus on new content. In pc-platform this means big release (expansion-model) with respective price (50% of game price...100% of game price).

People will buy expansions if its full of content, new stuff, shiny things (and new factions) regardless of bad reputation and "terribad" start with Homm6.

Only console fanbois buy DLCs and pay 5$ to have your hero's hair turn from gray to red and other minor irrelevant crap.

I'll buy any expansion or DLC that is "full of content". Make it, publish it and take my money!

But the content I want is not just different looks or inventory junk!
I'll never buy horses, equipment, new character looks or pay for something that probably escaped missbimbo site. Okay, there are players out there who want that stuff, but selling crap that 5year old kid could create in one afternoon for 10$ is a clear rip-off.
Make a story, make a campaign, make something like the second add-on for Heroes5 was and you may expect me to buy it. Pirates DLC? 15 minutes of fun = 10$? Yea, sell it to your mother. I'm not buying.

DLC and "pc game expansion" scale is usually very different.

What i mean by expansion is "more than 2 maps, 3 pics, 1 pet and random smiley".

Develop longer and market it as one big "patch/expansion". DLC is so robust word i decline to use it for such precious franchise like Homm

Yea, but if you check other games (not Ubisoft's ones!) you may see that DLC can be many different things. Dunno if it's allowed to mention game names, but okay... This year's Pyranha Bytes' game has a certain DLC noone will buy because it's adding, just like Pirate DLC here, only 15 mins of fun. Who needs that... Um... Well. The game is great (at least to me) but the DLC is fail, simple as that.
Unlike that one, certain Obsidian's hit that scored 84% on metacritic got 4 different DLC with quests, items, story and etc. Did I ask for the price? No. As soon as I've read what get in those, I just bought them.

For whatever reason many publishers are trying to milk fans with low quality and almost no content DLC. It may happen you buy it... Once. Maybe even twice. After that you'll never buy any DLC expecting it to be worthless junk.

This is entirely true about the expansions and all that...
I mean cmon...DLC's on PC??? Who the hell came up with that idea???

We(i hope most gamers) want the good old expansions back that were actualy fun to play and had more content that as someone said...1 new face, few new looks and a pet...

Look at blizzard for example...Maybe WOW is dying but the content they release with every expansion is huge and the profit they gain from it is even more huge...

You cant profit on 2 maps or if you are not willing to give more money to developers to develop something bigger. And also selling stuff to help the game be rid of bugs is a total idiotism from my point of view...No offence but first of all the game shouldn't have been released half done and the costumers are not oblieged to pay in order for u to fix the game... You should do that from your own pocket (talking about UBI) and not from ours.

5 was bad, but I wouldn't say worse. And it was fixed pretty quickly.

Let's not put all console players in one camp. Not all of them buy overprised DLC. And a lot of people play both on PC and one or more consoles.

Plus, DLC on PC is not a bad thing per se. They can work great, as long as the price s right. So instead of a classical expansion for 30 bucks, we get a number of DLCs that, together, have the same content and cost about the same? Cool! It won't always workbout, of course, but if it does, it's a great thing.

I'd even accept a small price increase, since you get to ix and match. Only want the new story episode? Buy only that. Not interested in story because you play MP only, but want the new MP items and content? Just don't buy the story!
