Gametrailers.com recently posted a video with their top 10 Fallen Angels in the video game industry. On that list at number 7 was splinter cell. They state that, while conviction was not a bad game, the new direction of conviction to a more action oriented game has essentially robbed the series of what made it unique. Check it out.

I agree with that statement. It was hard to see clips from earlier games placed next to conviction. Made me miss the old game style. Im off to play Chaos Theory.

The original trilogy holds up so well in the stealth genre even today. You would have thought, from the negative reaction the fanbase gave would have prompted them to let SC return to it roots.

I guess they give the team another go because of the development hell Conviction faced. But if Blacklist also gets "only" 85ish Metacritic combined with unsatisfactory sales I could see another reboot coming.
