Congrats and good for you for picking up a bass. Playing on a guitar just really isn't going to be the same. I played bass for a lot of years, quit and then took up guitar. Playing a bass line on a guitar isn't like playing bass at all. It's just playing guitar. You'll be happy you decided to get one.

congrats. If size becomes an issue, you might change to a short scale like Steinberger, Hofner, or Rickenbacker.

Squier also makes a short scale VM Jaguar, a new medium scale Telecaster bass, and a bronco or two (or is it a Mustang or two)
