Why is my entire game blacked out?

    Hello,

I've run into a problem with my hotseat game. For some odd reason, whenever I move into unknown territory (The blacked out area) my entire map darkens to the point where I can only see things glowing. I can't see my hero, I can't see where I am, I can't see where I'm going. It's frustrating. I restart the entire game, and it seems to be fixed, but as soon as I move into unknown territory again, my map blacks out. Oh and it's just not the map, it is the entire game, even the main screen is darkened. It would be appreciated if someone could help me out here. I just recently got this game (Steam sale FTW) and have been enjoying it thoroughly, and would like to continue this enjoyment.

    Thanks,
    Jon

Thank you for your quick reply, but this fix will not work for me. I have a laptop with only one graphic card.

    Thanks,
    Jon

This is what it looks like. It has not been doing this. (I have played the crap out of this game in the short time I have had it) It has also spread to my other games now.

I would suggest contacting technical support, so they can troubleshoot with you, the link is in my signature.

If the same thing is happening with other games, I would be suspecting it's your laptop, possibly an overheating issue. Nevertheless, checking in with Ubi tech support can't hurt.

As a general rule of thumb, also, make sure you have the latest graphics drivers as well.

Oops, I didn't make myself clear enough (problem with typing, I think faster than I can type). I meant my other saved games (campaign and such) not my other games on my laptop, I have no problem with them. I checked the technical support and didn't see anything in the FAQs that could help also. THOUGH I did find out my graphic card is an Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000 if that helps anything. I think it might be a problem with the hotseat games, so I'll revert to an older save on my other saved games and see if I can continue. I have forwarded my question to the technical support, so just waiting.

    Thanks,
    Jon

Let me know if they contact you back. Someone in another thread they just changed the resolution and it brightened up but I had no luck. I tried the demo with my Intel card so I bought the game but the new DLC doesn't seem to work.

Unfortunately the Intel onboard video chipsets are not supported for the game. Unforeseen issues like this may occur. You will need to have one of the supported video cards listed below installed on your system to fix the issue.

*Supported Video Cards at Release Time:
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600 / 9 / 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 series
    ATI RADEON HD 2600 / 3000 / 4000 / 5000 / 6000 series

Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. The Game was not tested with onboard graphics cards, including laptops.
