    Hey Guys, need some help

My main tv quit working properly. It was a 52" RCA rear projection TV. My PS3 setup for Rocksmith with that TV was PS3 to TV via component cables. Then I used the component cable from the PS3 to my old Sony receiver. That setup seemed to work well.

So now I have a Samsung TVUN55D6900WF LED TV and I had to update the receiver to be HDMI compatible for other devices. The new receiver is a Sony STR-DH830. I ran HDMI directly to TV from the PS3 and then I used the component cables to hook up audio to the receiver. I set the PS3 to output sound to dual channels, HDMI and component.

So I have everything working but there is something off a little bit. I've been using the song Angela to help dial this in. On my old set up I was scoring 108k or better with around 99% accuracy each time. With this new setup, I'm hitting the same accuracy but I'm only getting around 101k to 103k max. One time on the new setup I hit 100% and it was still only 103k. I'm assuming I need to dial in the lag correction in order to get the timing down and get bonus points.

I've set the lag correction at a variety of levels from 0 to 150 ms but either I'm not noticing any changes or that's not quite the issue. So does anyone else have the same TV that wants to share the lag correction they use or the TV settings? I have not tried it out with headphones yet but maybe I will as a control measure.

Try setting lag to 0 and look for a "game mode" setting on your tv for the specific input the PS3 is using.

Right... the game currently has a known glitch and settings with lag different than zero will afftect groove bonus. sound will be a little ahead of video, but if you play to the sound you should get the groove bonuses. It seems that this will be fixed with the next patch, in ten days.

Also, remove any sound processing in the new receiver. Especially digital sound processing will introduce audio lag, that will also negatively impact groove bonuses.
