    Limerick:

But If I remember correctly, weren't only certain enemies in past SC games able to be interrogated? Same thing now, but now rather than simple dialogue, we get to actively interrogate them - which is pretty cool in my book. I will say though, that the interrogations in Conviction got pretty boring after a couple play throughs. Still though, better than choke-hold interrogations in my opinion.

Of course upgrades to Next-Gen are obviously inevitable, i liked the solid nature of sam out on his own, with most of the people in his way having a purpose. I don't like that we're back in Iraq, in broad daylight. a one man army, backed by those well-trained and resourceful members of the service? why then, is he alone? wouldn't a non-failure requirement just scream at you "bring vic and anyone else who can do the job"?

it all feels lacksadaisical to me, as if it's not splinter cell anymore. It feels like Ubi is jst throwing vicious-natured gaming our way to compete with other games, and apeal to a broader spectrum, thus losing the original fans, or at least leading the purists on to believe that the next one is going to be what Splinter Cell was meant to be.

For all we know, there could have been a switch in development houses again, without anyone announcing it, and we get a wrecked version of SC6. they just lie, cheat and steal, and i'm so tired of hearing about the games i used to love and finding out that it's just a passable story driven shooter with somewhat interesting elements like enhanced interrogation. But the whole point of SC was always moving through defended areas with the ability to gain intel on what's happening in real-time, also from the occupants of the environment, not just the guy you were meant to find. i think it's a stretch that 4E just gets intel and Sam instinctively knows where to go. it takes away the mystery and suspense of finding out the truth on your own.

Well, Vic isn't as agile as Sam, so I doubt he'd have endurance to do what Sam does. He's up for plopping down with a sniper rifle and washing some pizza down with a cold one, haha. You make good points, and It's possible that you're right about Ubisoft just wanting to make a 3rd person COD to get as much money as possible - but I just don't see them, a very young studio, doing that. I think they are passionate about making a great game - not just to attract COD players. Plus, a new COD comes out every year right? Haha, their game plan surely can't expect to become the new COD studio. The worst that happens is you spend $60 and sell it for half that price, losing $30 in the end. Of course you will be majorly disappointed that your favorite series just lost a ton of hope, but I doubt it man. I think the both of us will be impressed by Ubi Toronto's next trailer of Blacklist.

]Conviction was a good game. It just wasn't a good Splinter Cell game.

except for the good game part, it's kinda mediocre.

" the franchise is just a sticker on the latest 3rd person shooting technology that Ubisoft can come up with"
hahahaha.....XD , it's so wrong, but yet so right.
otherwise why the franchise now put in so much efforts to insure player's way to shoots everyone in sight?
wish somewhere is the near future it can be proven wrong.

    Skepticism based on ignorance.

"professional" critics responded the same way when Absolution was first showcased.

"Doom! Looks like Hitman is eschewing stealth for rip-off mechanics and Michael Bay"

Folks on the Hitman forums were of the same opinion

They simply couldn't imagine how the mechanics would tie in and why IO would not abandon the core concept. One gunshot and they think its a COD clone.

Fans can be extremely obtuse (applies to me as well) when it comes to their beloved franchises...takes a certain detachment to view a game right.

Detached Shobhit: Ghost Recon has some briliiant and innovative ideas when it comes to SP and MP

Fanboy Shobhit: It is a mediocre, broken POS which jumped on the COD bandwagon

Does sound to me like an overal generalization since that's what happens all the time. Getting the first impression of a game and making your own opinion up, being sceptical based on the first footage you saw. We might just wait for the full game to be able to say something at all and be to late when it comes to requesting important features you are not really sure if they are in. Sure we can imagine Variable Speed being in Blacklist for example but we felt that isn't enough, is it?

I think that Splinter Cell is in an other situation. The fans feared that the same would happen to their franchise. While the media (I haven't followed it myself regarding Hitman Absolution) seemed to support the concerns of the fans which wasn't the case for Conviction nor might it be not as much for Blacklist. The very long wait might have made the fans even more sensible and it's really not uncommon in this console generation that franchises seem need to have to change for the good or bad.

The thing is, Gametrailers has already a full game to base their scepticism on and the demo at E3 which is supposed to be for just these guys to watch and give their first preview just supported that scepticism. Of course they might not be able to imagine it to come back, but to be honest I wouldn't be able to imagine that too after seeing that demo. Hell I will eat my shoes when they come back and the narrative isn't the way as I imagine after seeing that demo. Although I have a feeling some people actually don't want Splinter Cell to return to it's dignified roots because the only thing they seem to remember of it is the grandpa speed reference...

I won't say I am not doing that now with Splinter Cell, I am probably just doing that. I see good ideas and things I really like in Blacklist but at the same time I see the other side and I cannot pretend to just ignore that and keep my mouth shut. The German Forums are definitely a example therefore (to keep their mouth shut lol). I am really not sure whether it's really dead or they are all just waiting for more footage to come. We will see what happens when they showed the Stealth Playthrough.

The full game of Blacklist? How can Gametrailers already have the full game when it's still far from being finished? Did I misunderstand what you said? Also, if Gametrailers had the demo to play through, don't you think that Ubisoft will be sterngly listening to their critique?
