Splinter Cell, for me, was never about killing, but I see the current generation of gamers having this blood lust - That they need to be able to kill all the time. At least with Blacklist, it looks like we'll have that option.. But my fear is that with developer time and effort going into the M&E and animations for movement and killing, that what I miss as the real "meat" of what Splinter Cell has been about for me won't be there. That being hacking, one-off moments of defeating a high-tech piece of security (eg using thermal to see the warm buttons on a keypad), or identifying a target, or recording a conversation.
I know Pat Redding said the missions won't all be about takign out a target - And you will have to take missions to identify a target, etc etc... I am really hoping this is a go-back for the franchise instead of this blood-lust mindset that the latest generation of gamer posesses.
