    How to level solos?

So, I've been trying to nail the solo in more than a feeling for a little while now, but I can't seem to get it. I always miss one of the notes in one of the triplets even though I feel that I'm playing it. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to level this solo (or solos in general)? Or is it just that I need more practice?

And I also feel that in some solos, you can miss a couple of notes and still level it, but in others (like this one) you have to get every note. Anyone know something about this?

Having never leveled the Boston solos, I believe that I've heard it is a bend or 2 in the Boston solo(s). Bends are picky.

I generally just grind, grind, grind, until I get lucky.

Sometimes on a stubborn bend I will just play up a fret or 2, which will credit the bend.

You'r probably right about that, but the bends aren't my problem (atleast not now), it's kind of hard for me to see which notes I'm missing while I'm playing, but it seems like my pulloffs are a bit week, as I've seen them more than once not being registered. Guess I just have to work on it.

As for leveling solos in genral, is it best to use the levler or the accellerator(Have never used this myself), or is that different from solo to solo?

You cannot level in the AC, only in the LV.

I do use the AC to learn solos, that I just can't get in the LV. To do this, I crank the mastery to 100% (before the set speed run), then during the set speed run, I miss notes until I get the speed where I want it. This can be a little frustrating, but the only way, until manual speed adjust gets here. Then I practice it. If I feel I'm hitting it well, and want to keep the speed, then I will miss some notes on purpose to keep the current speed.

Once I feel good, it is back to the LV. I may put it up to 100% mastery, or maybe just one step below 100% (whatever that is).

You don't have to complete sections at 100%, you just have to get the mastery up to 100% (i.e. complete the mastery at the previous step). That is good enough to get purple once the song score is over 100K.

I've had an issue with that solo as well. For me, it is undoubtedly something to do with the hammer-on/pull-offs. I hear each note as I'm playing it, but I'll see occasionally the little yellow up or down arrow indicating that I'm on the wrong fret (I'm not.) I got frustrated with it and left it alone for a while.

This solo does require 100% notes hit. Most single block solos do. Solos that contain multiple blocks/sections are more lenient, the more blocks, the more lenient they are.

I did level this, but it took a bit more time than most because you have to make sure every bend flashes, and there's that quick set of notes near the end you have to really make sure you get.

The way I'd practice this is using the accellerator at 100%, and then drop one level down when you go into leveller to get it levelled to 100% since that will make it a bit easier, but will still help you unlock master mode.

This solo is on my list as well. Close but no cigar yet.

I would really love to just look down at the fretboard the whole time and LV this. Right now I've got to keep looking at the TV for flashes or arrows. I want to get more ear-dependant for knowing when I've got it right and less eye-dependant.

My experience with tough sections is that when I give a song a break for a week or two it becomes easier when I come back to it. Fortunately, I've got so much good material in RS to work on.

I think the worst part of this solo was the bends when I was messing with it, they have to be perfect. I haven't played it for a while. Try to learn the part that you're missing, or the game thinks you're missing, enough to play it and watch the screen so you can find out what notes you're missing.

Or you can use the free speed option. I think it's a horrible tool for learning, but it does work for finding which notes the game doesn't pick up. It will stop the song until you hit that last note you missed.

If you're not doing this already, during the pull offs instead of just pulling the finger straight up, pull in a little bit of an angle, almost plucking the string. Other than that you might want to pay attention if you're not pulling the string too much, or pressing too hard, and changing the pitch.

Started playing guitar when I started with Rocksmith (Dec), so with that in mind . . . I was frustrated by solos, too--many songs with all non-solo parts maxed and solos at 50%.

Accelerator was what cured this for me--as someone else just commented, I miss notes until I get Accelerator down to the speed I like. Go slow enough and it will teach you the bend you need to get a "flash." E.g., I made it an ongoing project to jump into the "Good Enough" solos on Accelerator--actually even going slow this was pretty fun for me--and when I got them to 100% speed I would shoot over to Leveler. Worked slowly but like a charm.
