Good news! I'm assuming that means they are skipping song DLC next week? I may stop by a local pawn shop to see what they have in the way of basses at lunchtime today.
My pick-up toggle switch has 3 modes: Swank, Extra Swank, and Super Swank

I'm fine with them skipping a week, I need to practice on the songs I've gotten lately anyway.

I only hope that they've tested the hell out of the PS3 patch, if it truly fixes the freezing 98% of the time I will be a happy man.

Excellent. I'll be on a road trip to Indianapolis on the 14th and back on the 23rd (more or less) so I'll miss the initial fuss but I'll be able to get it quicker when I get back

And, failed captcha... I may fail again as well; what is that first letter?

Same here, I spent all my points on microsofts Deadlight. Game is short but awsome!!

The bass is coming just in time being that I think I finally got the neck good to go on my P-Bass.
It is going to be a long two weeks!
I wonder if they will release the patch earlier than the 14th?

I'd rather be able to use the same tool to practice, get the speed up and then once at 100% speed be able to level it without having to back out of one tool and go into another.
Ideally, they could make a single, perfect practice mode where you have the option to manually raise/lower the speed and mastery (or have the player play through once at full speed/mastery and determine suitable starting values), and make toggle-able options for automatic increase of speed/mastery when all notes are played.

    ^This.

I would add the ability to toggle on/off the feature from the FS mode where it stops the song when you miss a note. Put that all into one practice mode and we'd have the ultimate RR.

As an added bonus I wouldn't mind seeing some scoring displayed in RR. It could tell you what you would have gotten for that section in Rehearse or Perform mode. It would also be a game unto itself. I'd try and beat my best section scores in addition to full song scores.

I'd also make a humble recommendation for future DLC to keep each RR section relatively brief in length. Some of those solos... well.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_UsmvtyxEI

Have they said anything specific at all about what's in the patch (other than bass stuff I mean)?

Look for the thread her titled "August 14th", there s a video from RS' lead audio designer stating that the bass DLC will be out on that date. And, since they need to release the patch first (it will contain the data for the bass expansion), it is assumed that the patch will be out just before the bass DLC.
EDIT: in case you missed it, check post #17 about an official FB announcement.
