Sorry but suggesting that the black screen bug (that appeared with patch 1.5) and the missing savegames are the fault of the users complaining here when in reality the cause of these problems lie in the shortcomings of Ubisoft's software, is not respectful at all.
Also the image verification was installed because the spam bot problem on these forums was getting ugly.

It was never my intent to be disrespectful towards those who experienced the black screen bug as a direct result of moving to the 1.5 patch... clear cause and effect. My bad if I gave that impression. Thanks for the info about image verification.

well after reading thread i hade to say i find it inspiring. And well the thing is i have been around her for 7 years and there has been up and downs. Im on of those who belive ubi has probems geting heros. The heros comunety is a bunche opnionated people, i mean we showed starforce down ubis throat. There has alwasy been alot whining on gaming forums and well that is becuse thera are alot of young people posting on forums.

But thinking this counety is bad i say take a look at assisns creed forum, i think youll find we hare habing civil and higly educated debate. So you know what? I like this counety. Its in fackt grate. We have haters we have fanboys, but what we all have pation for the heros.

this game has so much potential it is indeed quite infuriating.
ubisoft made a very large mistake, and is doing very little to amend it. the actions of the community are a direct result of this lack of action by ubisoft.

LOL, I know that this IS the internet (sic). I also am aware, sadly, that Ubisoft took (and still do) many wrong decisions in the production of HMM 6. So many of you have enlightened us all for so long and with such a vocal cry that both facts would have had been very difficult to miss.

This thread is not about these facts.

This thread is about another, even more worrisome fact: a lot of people believe that their opinions ARE the reality.

I don't know what have you been smoking and i don't want to know.

When you go to pub to buy a can of beer and receive can of worms instead, you express your feelings. In this case post about the problems and bugs (which are of abundance).
Broken game is reality! There's not much to debate on "reality" or "perception" of human being as those are the facts - game is broken.

If you cannot enjoy this game (or any other, for that matters), then it MUST be true than nobody else can. If you cannot connect to the Conflux, nobody can. If you hate all the changes made in this new version, everybody else does. If you are a veteran who played all Heroes games and cannot enjoy this one, then all veteran players must feel like you. And this arrogant, childish, and delusional perspective is constantly reinforced by the other people throwing tantrums as you do. Watching this forum is as entertaining as watching kindergarten kids all screaming during the recreation period.

Moreover, if somebody dares to tell you a different opinion, then the poor sucker must be on Ubisoft’s payroll, or just a child with no experiences of the glorious days of Heroes 3, or plain and simple a moron with no taste or values. And so much more has been written here and other forums related to Heroes. I (sic) read so many of your well informed opinions (= facts, in your mind) to try to understand. ‘Heroes is doomed forever’, some wrote; ‘Why even bother to patch it’ others wrote ‘Let’s just move on to HMM 7’; and again ‘I answered all the HMM 6 fan-boy’s points blow by blow’, another well educated person wrote. And the list goes on and on.

If something smells like sh1t, it is sh1t. Facts.

No need for some reverse psychology crap as you sound exactly like miserable PR attempt from UBI side (in other words illogical to casual customer) even if you are not.

If you have any experience in gaming (software) world , the one weak game in series can mean the series is dead. Hence the cries, HoMM is dead. Nothing outrageous here.

Why did I take the time to read these comments? Because I have been proud to be part of the Heroes community for almost two decades, and I assumed that in order to play, enjoy and be part of this community one should be able to recognize, at the very least, the distinction between opinions and facts. I also assumed that people in this community would want to express their valuable opinions, comments, and criticisms in order to improve the game. Why else, after all, so many gamers would invest their precious time in making hundreds of maps, campaigns, and mods for this venerable series? I’ve played so many of the fan-based extensions of the game, including the ones for HMM 6, and I am so very grateful to all people who did so.

No longer I am proud to be part of this community. The hysteria that unfolded like the flue among so many people, including many veterans, is unbearable. One cannot express sincere gratitude for a game (yes, I am talking about HMM 6) that gave some people (including me) so much joy for so little (admittedly, I have much disposable income and $60 are very little for me, but I do understand that this is not the case for everyone) without being attacked by a gang of internet bullies who enjoy more ‘crushing the party’ than the game they (supposedly) paid to play. I have even seen such a person who claimed not even owning the game and trashing it nevertheless, just for the kick of it, I assume?

Maybe your are not equipped to deal with my next point (assumes a little knowledge about UBI history) but it is as follows. The game is distributed under UBI-.flag. People who know ubi's notorious history in deadline failures and "broken" software-products, are therefore more easily irritated by another fail. Especially if it happens to franchise you have held dear for decades ( you are not the only "old" person with HoMM background in these forums).
You can't blame people yelling at the devil...

So, my ancient friends and new enemies, enjoy your anger and sadness and prediction of dooms. I value your opinion, your feelings, and your criticisms. But please be advised that you feelings, your opinions, and your criticism do not represent a universal value, just your own personal, negative, and often sad view of the world. In other words, try to accept the idea that you are NOT the center of the universe. I know, it’s painful now, but it will get better later.

UNIVERSAL VALUE ? You mean how much money Ubi pick-pocketed from customers ? Yeah, that's probably a lot. All that is left is what customers get for that "UNIVERSAL VALUE" - broken product, lacking customer support, no transparency regarding further developments (at least for the first 6 months).

I have not seen a game which DOES NOT HAVE ANY IDEA or common knowledge of customers network standards of today ( building "Online solution" which uses ports that are closed for MAJORITY of customer home network equipment). It's not a f*kin 1995 anymore!

Although, I have seen more unstable products!

All this together makes a really bad case even with amazing sound (Romero), nice graphics and nice combat system (even though several abilities are broken since launch; that's more than 9 months from now).

So, even if you dear Sir are not equipped to deal with these points (some may call reality) coming from someone who has been in gaming (as work and hobby) for almost 10 years, I can only pitty you.

PS! Go and try to secure a forum spokesperson contract with UBI if you haven't already. They surely are in need of ignorant, reality-detached "forum spin doc" or two!

Unfortunately the game is mediocre at most. And when a mediocre game has so much bugs, well, hope doesn't rise too high. And yes, lots of bugs are objective and independant of the hardware, OS, installation environment (see ability bugs). These are not customer specific. I still somehow hope that there will be expantions that will add new content and fix bugs. This game is not inherently broken like Civ 5 with its 1UPs, its design is simplified in a somewhat bad direction, but not really a dead end so theoratically there is hope for the far future, but not the near future, which is why I follow these forums and meanwhile play Homm5!
