    I like the UCAV, it's built rather fair...except on Siege or Stockade.

    Some engi will wait in the spawn till he's the last guy alive or immediately when the game starts and start attacking people without any risk to his life at all.

    Now why this may be fine in other modes, it's not cool with me in Siege or Stockade. This is mostly because in Siege, you have 1 life, so imagine something that only needs to hit you with 3 explosive rounds near you (not on you) and it isn't even loud, it somehow makes no noise. (Weird) So while I like it as a whole, it allows some engineers to do too much in Siege or Stockade, as UCAV spam can get annoying...

    Plus they make it harder than ever to stop one, because you have to land an EMP grenade against something solid near it or your grenade will fly right by.

    And then it somehow takes 2 bullets (ALWAYS) from my MSR to kill it where I can plug just one in some dude's chest and he's gone.

    So overall it's a pretty fair weapon, just not on siege or stockade because the idea, as my friend put it, of an extra life is kinda cheesy...

    False!
    EMP grenades will detonate within effective range of a UAV or UCAV. Read the tooltip.
    Think of it as your arm-mounted flak cannon against drones.

    Only EMPs from the EMP launcher, which is a complete waste of a secondary weapon.

    Thrown EMP grenades (which I always have) won't explode in proximity. You have to hit the wall next to the UCAV.

    This. I wish they would change that.

    I don't use it much anymore because I maxed out that engineer class and I play my others now. I did use it in decoy to fly to the furthest objective and stop whoever tries to take it. Also yea its great for campers. I do wish they would tweak it though. There was a thread somewhere about changes.

    For reals. I mean, the EMP launcher uses the same EMP grenades that you throw, right? Or is your soldier like, "Oh hold on, I have to attach these proximity detonation charges to these EMP grenades in my launcher real quick."???

    I hate that :/ what I do is if i see one following me, i try to go into a tight corridor so he has to go to ground level to actually see me. When they follow you in(almost all the time they will do this) I just chuck one down the hall and it gets them.

    uav/ucav just means to go check the enemy spawn for your free data hack...

    Its a ***** weapon, but considering how up it is compared to rm its alright.... i guess thats what ubi was going for...still makes you look like a scrub for using it...

    The UCAV is a very situational weapon. If there's a sniper on the other team who's outside of the safety zone (Like that ever happens), and they're a complete noob, and they don't have any teammate anywhere near them, and they're totally scoped in, and they don't listen to game sounds, then you can fly the UCAV over and blow them up. For the most part, people see the big red box flying towards them and shoot it down before you do anything with it. If I know someone on the other team insists on flying a drone constantly I'll play my rifleman with the emp launcher and shoot it down every time. UAVs don't last long at all against a competent team. But I've also had games where I'll go 0/0/0/42 doing nothing but flying my UAV because people are too dumb to shoot at it.

    As for reloading, you get back 3 frags and 1 emp every time you use an ammo box. Since it takes 3 frags to kill someone, you basically get 1 kill per reload. And that only works if you recall the drone after it's empty. If it gets shot down, obviously it's gone. The grenades shoot at about the same arc as the noob tube, but since you're high in the air you get an easier direct shot down at the enemy so it seems like less of an arc.

    You can't use frag grenades against people inside the spawn boundaries. It just doesn't hurt them.

    And I've been shot down probably like 10 times the entire time I've played the game, and I use the UCAV multiple times a match. Just sharing my personal experience here. While some people are competent and will try to shoot me down, I generally just quickly deploy it, get my two kills, then recall it. I never really spend that much time flying around.
