Thanks for the heads up derrick. I got a couple of songs in mind if I win this week and they are both non-dlc, though there are several DLC I would like to pick from sometime. I have a three year old son and he LOVES jammin out to Rocksmith. His favorite song is Bohemien Rhapsody

Hi Everyone, first post here! This is NickyScissors from ScoreHero and I JUST found out there is weekly song challenges here... That's great stuff! I hope there is some folks from ScoreHero on this board (I'm sure there is) as they were a great group of folks to get to know and compete with.

Welcome! I'm glad someone beat that score I put up. Glad to have you in the competition. If you'd rather choose DLC for the week go ahead, it's your choice. In general more people play on "on disc" weeks, but it's ok either way: you win, you choose. Biggest thing is not to choose something that was chosen before, and you can see all the previous choices in weekly competition sticky at the top of the forum.

Also glad to hear you found that scoring FAQ. I am hopeful the patch will fix some of the wonkiness with groove bonusses, and in particular I am hopeful they will fix how video lag impacts groove.

Entered my final score - only a small improvement. Was making good progress through the beginning of the week, but had to take Friday and Saturday off. Had some time today, but just couldn't get it going again.

Got my score in a little too late, which is a bummer. Still had fun grinding this one after a tremendously busy week, was a great way to let off Steam on Saturday and early Sunday before all hell broke loose in my neighborhood. Way out of my skill range right now, but this falls cleanly into my list of songs I'd love to one day be able to master (in maybe three years, haha).

EDIT: Double dukes, according the spreadsheet I would have placed first for Div IV too, dang.

Great scores everyone. This was a tough one. (I seem to say that a lot.)

I never did get a better score. I can get through the solos in RR, eventually, but I can't play them very well at all in performance.

That did not stop me, however, and a video is on the way.

Thanks! He was out of bed early today (we're in a timezone 6 hrs ahead of the EST) to see if his score held up in Division II, and is jumping around on the floor playing air guitar now that it looks like it did.

Edit: Nevermind on the the score question, I saw the link for getting the groove bonuses. Silly enough, I have to play the song about 1/2 second faster than your supposed to get the groove bonus. I find it strange that I can combo 400+ notes with my first pic and not get a lot of bonuses... I think a -50 or -100 screen lag adjustment would sync of my delay. That might be a nice enhancement in the future for those who have this type of problem.

First off, Welcome to the challenge. Fantastic socre and Accuracy! Congrats! I have to confess that even though your score was insane I was even more impressed with accuracy and note streak.
The summary of the scoring is to set your video lag to 0 and do whatever you can with your setup to get get rid of as much of the audio lag as possible. This way you don't have to play so far ahead (of the audio) to get groove bonuses. You will be visually playing ahead of the note highway though. Most of us are really trying to play on the beat, because this is more fun (and pleasing to the ear).
It will be interesting to see what (if anything) happens after the patch on Aug 14 with groove bonuses.
Were you getting Groove Bonus or " Early Groove Bonus"?

Regarding the 97% streak, please post those next time. We have an honorable mention for highetst Accuracy (which you won anyway with your 96%) but it is always great to capture the best that someone was able to do on a particular challenge. Same goes for highest note streak.
