    You really want to play all of them to get the full story. Contracts remade some of the levels from Codename 47, but doesn't tell all of the story. Bear in mind there are technical issues with the older games though.

    However the developers of Absolution have said that the storyline doesn't really tie in with the older games, so as long as you've got the basics...

    i will only buy black ops 2 after watching zombies gameplay and deciding for myself if its good enough or not.

    now i hate CoD as much as the next guy. (mostly just the fanboys) but the zombies is f-ing awesome

    I bought only the ones that have good singleplayer - CoD 1, 2, 3, 5, 7.

    Wasn't a big fan of 4, played SP at friend's house.

    i played it a couple of times at gamestop, didn´t like it. It felt too 2 dimensional

    Say what you want about CoD now but CoD4 is fantastic. SP and MP were great and still are.
