AC 2 doesn't save anymore | Forums

I have saving issues with AC2. I bought it on Steam, but it still works via Uplay. The thing is, I came up to a point in the game where it just won't save my progress anymore. I have done the same part 4 times already and always, when I get back to continue my game, I am always at the same previous location. I have even tried doing a lot more last time, thinking perhaps I needed to do a couple of the main story quests so that it saves or something.

Nothing... Honestly, if no one here can help me, I might just stop playing this game... Too bad it's working so badly, cause the game itself is rather fun.

I have the exact same problem. I start the game in steam, U-play fires up and I play the game for a couple hours. I get multiple checkpoints and make story progress, then quit and come back later to find that none of my progress has been saved.

I've heard other people reporting this problem as well. Does ANYONE know if there is a fix or at least if Uplay is trying to fix it? I am very disappointed that a game this big from a company this experienced can have such a glaring problem.

All the good will I carried for this game was lost in an instant after the game failed to save my last three hours of playtime. I don't even have the bloody willpower to power through the same areas again, I just don't. Want. To do it!

So, if the plan was to stop me from playing your game with your buggy-as-hell cloud saving system, congrats.

This is even worse: my save is constantly regressing. I knew my game had saved much, much later in the game before rebooting it back, I even tested it before going for the night.. and now it's regressed EVEN FURTHER. 6+ hours of play, wiped ENTIRELY BLOODY CLEAN.

I think I may have found a fix (one that worked for me at the very least)

I just clicked the settings button at the top right corner of the Uplay client (the button that's a picture of a gear) and turned off the "enable cloud synchronization" option.
Went back into the game and not only did it resume at my most recent save I'd thought I'd lost, but it's been saving just fine sine then.
I guess cloud saving was the problem, and this just switches to saving locally on your PC.

Anyway, hope that helps anyone who's had this problem.
