Pretty much, you can see the similarity in the hammer and the tongs on the belt.

Some AC3 characters are reminiscent of previous characters, I think.

I think of the ACB crew, the Barber would be probably the one that could be carried over without looking too out of place. Keep his hair do and looks, but update his attire to be more current...

I also would like the Harlequin to return, regardless of how well he fits, it's such a cool character and his taunts in ACR were amazing! Not too bothered about the doctor.

From ACR, none of them really suit the era, though I think if any of them were to be carried over it would be the Renegade.

I'd like to see the deacon return.But if the doctor and the jester were to return then it would be too much wouldn't it?I liked the trickster,but then there is that indian girl so it is unnecessary for her to reappear.The ones I don't want to see return are the champion and the bombardier or even the thespian too.The count is cool but he won't fit too well i think.
