The Knight and the Courtesan, while keeping their appearance from ACB, were given different names and backstories in ACR. Fiora Cavazza became Fabiola Cavazza and the Knight was supposed to be someone who was "inspired" by the ACB character which is why he dressed the same. So they weren't the same characters, just people who looked and acted like them. Not sure what the deal with the Crusader is though.

I like the artwork for the Robber. If they keep him like this and less like the Footpad, I might actually end up liking him. The Footpad was by far my least favorite ACB character, for some reason I couldn't stand his stupid hairdo.

Technically, I don't buy the whole Fiora/Fabiola statement, since they never really established what relation Fabiola had to Fiora, and that she had never been mentioned in Project Legacy by Fiora either.

When it came to the Knight, even though I wanted a redesigned Hellequin over him, I would have rather had him in his Elite Gear as well. Oh well.

For Haras, he was featured in the first of Altair's Memory Seals, as the Crusader knight who "could not betray those who he never truly loved", since he was previously a recruit of the Assassin Order who was dissatified with his progression and then decided to lead a force of soldiers against Masyaf and its fortress.

I don't believe the Robber will change that much, since I think I've seen a brief clip where he's killed by the Pioneer, and he looks rather the same to his concept art. That isn't to say he won't be customizable though.

I would like to see the Dama Rossa come back, i think she was a great character that was unique and offered something the other characters didn't, there was something very evil and sexual about her and that is why people liked to play as her :')

Some of the new characters are clearly inspired by ACB personas. The Lady Maverick looks like a cross between the Courtesan and Dama Rossa, the Pioneer looks similar to the Thief and of course the Robber is basically the Footpad with a different haircut. Maybe it's to appease the fans who felt that the ACB characters were much more interesting than the ACR ones.
