    S3 Gold-Win7 Home Premium Install Blues

    I just bought 2 S3 Golds so we could LAN game. The install on my XP machine went fine. The Win7, not so much.

    I've tried disabling everything in MSCONFIG except what the Toshiba really does need to load. Even tried uninstalling antivirus and spybot.

    After being asked to confirm in the UAC box, I get the message, "Setup is unable to find installation languages in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\InstallShield\SETUP.LID file. Error 105" It makes no difference if I start it with "Run as Administrator" or not. Same message if I go into CDROM:\S3\INSTALL and repeat with "Setup.exe"

    I'm not sure how to go about the suggestion to copy to the desktop and install in safe mode. The other post which called for a separate Amazon install actually did kind of work after enough tries, but my Amazon disk is so scratched that it can't be read at start of game, and that install won't recognize the S3 Gold CD1 as valid.

    Any way through?

    Quick update:

    I copied the CD onto the desktop and tried a safe install. Error message is "The system cannot find the path specified." followed by "Failed to start InstallShield Setup."
