the problem is not your computer but the crappy peer to peer set up by UbiSoft. Where ever you are you are more than likely getting a game with someone halfway around the world and thats the lag you see.
It just takes one lagger to bring down the whole match down. The funny thing is that the lag actually benefits the lagger. Kind of hard to hit a player warping across the screen. Playing with people from around the globe also make voice chat kind of pointless. Everyone is speaking a different language or just not chatting at all. .
I love listening to players screaming in different languages. Something needs to be done.

Don't understand why we can't just host an open server ^^
Because after so many years in the gaming industry, knowing what PC gamers want and prefer, someone at Ubisoft had brain explosion and said " meh, who gives a d a m n about customers wanting dedicated servers, we'll just give'em this piece of ****e instead, actually we will just go ahead and give them a game that doesn't even work at all"
What your experiencing is not lag, it's low or inconsistent fps (frames per second). "Lag" suggests a network time delay.
Just to give you an idea, my PC can run Battlefield 3 on ultra settings and the framerate doesn't drop below 40 fps. In GRFS on lowest settings I'm averaging 20 fps and occasionally lower. That's a red flag.
Also, if you're playing at 1920x1080 resolution the game locks its screen rate to 24Hz, so try lowering the resolution or using any of the workarounds.
The game has some major performance issues which, according to Ubisoft and the mods on these forums, are to be fixed in the next patch (dubbed v1.4). Let's see what really happens.
