Thread: Driver: SF stuttering issues. (PC please help) | Forums

Thanks to all those who have posted fixes for this issue. It is such an absurd scenario that I can scarcely believe it is going on. I accept when games have bugs but when they exist only because Ubisoft is treating us like criminals it is totally intolerable.

Anyway just wanted to add my voice to the growing chorus to make sure Ubisoft get the message that this situation is totally unacceptable. The $8 I paid for this game was too much and I won't be buying another Ubisoft game until this Uplay crap is scrapped.

    Shame Ubisoft.

Hey guys, I found a solution to the problem.
In the folder Driver San Francisco/common/fmv file should be replaced by explosion.bik explosion1.bik.
    I have everything works fine.
    Good luck!

Yeah this is for the last mission not to crash, because that’s what happens for some people. So renaming or deleting the explosion file helps. Just that there’s not going to be any explosion…

could you elaborate on that? I really want to play the game however i can, however if it's going to seriously compromise the experience I'm not so sure I want to do it.

Well, not seriously but… personally I would prefer to keep it. As you know now (sorry!) there is an explosion towards the end. I don’t want to spoil this for you! But don’t worry — the explosion is the least interesting thing, it’s more the consequences which are rather… impressive.

And those „consequences“ will stay if you delete or remove that file.

But to be honest… I would just play the game and if in the last mission it crashes or freezes, then remove this file. Or perhaps get some RAM! :P (I don’t know if weak computers are the reason for this, it seems to take a lot of resources but actually this explosion.bik file is just a video file).

Just leave it like it is now! Your game won’t get messed up, this issue has nothing to do with the other issues here

When you do this last mission, if your game crashes, then simply remove or rename that file, and then you can do the mission without it crashing! It’s not like you’ll never be able to access the game again or something, hehe. It’s just in the middle of the mission or so, it can happen that it crashes. However, I don’t believe this is the case with most people!
