    Desmond Journey Crashes on PS3

Somebody already posted this problem, but nobody wrote a workable solution, I just bought AC Revelations for my PS3, installed the latest update and after a few hours unlocked Desmond Journey 1, when the loading begging the screen went full black, wasn't even able to exit the game or open XMB, after five minutes I restarted my PS3. Then I was able to play Journey 1, but now I have the same problem with Journey 2 and not even restarting the game works.... Help.

    Me too

I'm having the exact same problem. I played one but it was awhile ago and I forgot that I played that one. So I tried it again. It froze, I rebooted the PS3 then it worked. I saw that I already played it and since I don't like to begin with I thought I would go back to the island. Tried two did same thing but wont unfreeze. I haven't tried the other ones yet. But I did get the lost archive. I played that once through between the first time I played the first and the second time when it froze. Not sure if thats what caused it or not. Were you able to get them to work? I have 40 animus fragments and one of the doors is still not visible.

I have the same issue though I am on the 5th one and I haven't gone into the actual game yet, I wanted to do desmond stuff first so I get to the 5th one and it auto saves then the screen stays black but I can hear the music play in the background and it stays like this making have to restart my PS3 and when I try it again it still freezes

I had the same problem with Part 1, reset it, then it worked and then Part 2 wouldn't work no matter what.

Here's what you want to do. On the PS3 dashboard, go to Game, scroll (probably up) until you see Game Data Utility. MAKE SURE IT'S GAME DATA, any other kind of data utility could result in lost saves. Click on it and you should see two Assassin's Creed boxes. One is the install data (the game automatically installs some data when you first put int he disc that's why the black bar takes so long to fill) and the update. Delete the update. That seems to be the main culprit here. If it still doesn't work then go back to the Game Data Utility and delete the install data and install it fresh but DO NOT reinstall the update until you're done with the Desmond's Journey segments. For some reason it's what's causing the crash.

I have this problem aswell. I have played the entire game 3 times through and it has been perfectly fine, but this time it just won't open.

I hope AC3 doesn't have any game breaking glitches!

    AC Brotherhood's Doctor
    AC Revelations' Vizier
    Assassin's Creed 3's Commander

I have the same problem. Removing the update does make it work. However, I was able to get it to work on a different PS3 with the update. I think it could be an issue with the PS3 and BINK Video.

I notice that it hangs before it plays the video where it shows a program running checking memory. This is probably the BINK video where my PS3 is getting hang. I say this because I have seen this issue too with Call of duty: World at War. I also had to remove the update to be able to pass the introductory video (couldnt get to the start menu of the game). On thing to note is that the PS3 experiencing this problem had its HDD change for a Harddrive of 500gb Western Digital 2.5" hdd (5400rpm). The PS3 without this problem has the original HDD installed.

Both PS3 are Slims. I will try reinstalling the original HDD and see if it fixes the issue

It won't,save your time. I have a PS3 Slim as well(Original HDD) and had this problem until I deleted the game(There isn't 2 boxes) and just let it re-install(Without Installing the update)
