    How's the multiplayer?

Hey guys was wandering…as you may know from my previous thread I'm new to the splinter cell series and wanted to know how the multiplayer is… I love multiplayer even more then single player. So on that note..... HOW IS IT? Do they actually have multiplayer? Not co-op campaign I mean objective taking 6vs6 multiplayer. It would be nice to see a stealthy multiplayer but..... That would probably be pretty difficult to put in. Would simply just like to know... Thanks

Edit:another multiplayer question...... Which is the first SC to actually Have (good) multiplayer if any???

    God Bless!!!

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory have the best multiplayer mode. It's objective based 2v2 Spy vs Merc. The learning curve is steep, and you will hand your *** to many before you get good. Stick with it, you'll experience intense moments you've never felt before. GUARANTEED! It lead me to drinking while playing to calm my nerves. Made me a horrible team mate cause i'd end up drunk but none the less. I have yet to experience that much fun since.

Finding servers is another story. Most likely some here, or a quick search in the legacy forums will help you on your way to snapping some necks and mining some spies.

So is it matchmaking? And is it hard to find a match if it is?

Appreciate the post by the way.

There is no matchmaking for PT and CT multiplayer. Though you can always count quick matches as matchmaking. Only SCC has matchmaking. So just use the server browser in game for PT and CT but PT server is shut down but I don't know for PC. CT seemed to be still up and running. And yes, check out the legacy forum to find a few players.
The more I play SCC, the more I think SCC and SCB are more optimized for panther and assault. Playing ghost is not really a fun factor unlike the old SC games. For that matter, I think SCB should at least be played panther or assault (not over use). We all hope SCB is more classic since it is still in production but you can't change the fact that the series is taking this way. Therefore, you play it the way it's meant to be played. Though, I am not ruling out ghosting in SCB, it's possible and can be fun but the game is more optimized for panther/assault.
    Therefore:
SC1-4: Ghost player SCC and SCB: Panther/(Occasional)Assault
    Overall: GHOST PLAYER

Another multiplayer question I have is… I know the HD trilogy doesn't have the multiplayer *bad sigh* (I'm ps3) so my only multiplayer option would be double agent, is that one any good? Are the servers even still up? Would it be easy matchmaking?

    Appreciate any info.

Oh and thanks for the info Sam.

I think SCDA servers are still up but I am not sure. The last time I checked was about a year or so ago and during that year, there were no multiplayer servers for either PT and CT on the xbox or ps2. I think ps2 uses a separate server or so but I am not sure. Don't quote me on it. As for DA, like I mentioned in your other topic, there may be no players even though the server is still up. And SCDA has a kind of matchmaking, no server browser, which is really annoying. And the server may be down now but I am not sure. So sorry man.

You can always go for the PC. The PC servers are always up and running, even if UBI server goes down, you can always use third party software, to connect to other players. And I think it is a great idea to play on the PC. You can get PT, CT, DA and SCC and play multiplayer on PC without ever worrying about the servers. And gaming is always great for PC.

So we can have some gaming time if you like on the PC. Just ask me and set up a time, and we're good to go. However, at the moment I only have SCCT, and SCC. My SCDA is somewhere but I may have to rebuy it. Steam is having a sale, I can get it again. Anyways, look me up when you can play for the PC.

The Xbox 360's servers are up & running. Played a couple of matches with French gamers a month ago. So I think its safe to assume that the PS3 sever is good to go.
Sam : Tell me about the meeting.
Merc : The meeting? Why do you want to know about the meeting?
Sam : that's not the way it works. I ask you a question, and you give me an answer that prevents me from breaking your neck.

Cool. I was just redoing SCDA on the xbox and I forgot to go multiplayer. :/ I did get SCDA again for PC but there seems to be no server and some bugs problem. :/ However, I can always do LAN with my brother.

Spy's vs mercs was the first mp I ever played. Still one of the best multiplayers I have played to this day. It has to be ur type of thing though. Not everyone will enjoy it and it has a pretty decent learning curve.
