Steam and Uplay, possible way to start with just Uplay? | Forums

I bought Assasin Creed 2(AC2) from steam, but only to found out that in order to start the game I need to

Start steam -> Click play -> Launch Uplay -> Click Play. Seriously???? REALLY? running 2 clients on my already slow PC? This really sucks!

With all the the for AC2 achievement is only available Uplay & Steam doesnt have one. then there is no way Ubisoft allow AC2 to run on steam only. That means steam is redundant
Although I prefer to run on steam than Uplay, since I have friends there, but only want to run 1 client to play the game!

So can I play AC2 with just UPlay?

I dont mind even re-downloading the game from directly Ubisoft again.(If Ubisoft allow me to Download)

Make a shortcut to the game exe, add "-uplay_steam_mode" (without the quotes!) to the target line. Go!

doesnt seems to work on AC2, it still launch steam lol together with Uplay.

Games purchased through Steam require the Steam client to be running during play.

I have Anno 2070 (steam) and i can launch game without steam. Just delete\rename in your game folder steam_api.dll but make backup this file. I hope this works on you)
