How do you kill thunderbird ??

How do you kill the thunderbird in the "fortunes of captain hack campaign". You can't accumulate a large army before the fight, since it always starts with a fixed army regardless of what you have. It keeps casting those sparks under my units. The whole stack is dead in a couple of turns. I have a remove spell in my spellbook that I can cast every three turns that is supposed to remove binds and negative effects but it doesn't remove anything. Somehow I think it is supposed to. Is this another bug to be added to the endless UBI soft bug list ?

I can't even get to the Thunderbird. After freeing Falagor and getting his book, no openings to the red zone or to the T-bird appear. Can you help me with this?

There is an old magician on a tiny island just north of the island you start on. You have to go see him and he tells you to get his codex from a shipwreck. The ship wreck is embeded just west of the island you start on. Fight the purple wraiths garding it and you get the codex as a reward. Take it back to the magician and he joins your party. Select the magician, get on a ship and go to the island where there is an ice barrier blocking further progress. The magician automatically breaks down the barrier when he gets close to it and you can continue into the island. There are two towns you should take on that island. Defeat the leader of the pirates. I think his name is Jon and continue north along one of the winding passages. You have to kill purple wraiths along the way. You eventually get to the entrance to the tunnels below. Go down and follow the path killing fire elementals along the way. The exit is to the east just follow the path. Take the exit up and you get to the rock island where the thunderbird is.

I forgot, before you reach the fire elementals in the tunnels below there are some rock elementals you have to clear first. The rock elementals are ok but the fire ones are nasty. You need a good sized army to clear all the way through. If you spend too much time massing an army the elementals become to strong and you're stuck. You have to find the right balance between army size and time.

    I'm curious too

I have the same problem with Thunderbird. I've tried various artifacts and I can't get close killing that bird. It has 65k HP and closest I got was above 7k and died with no chance left. Some advice would be appreciated. I'm playing Xpert.

I did like this, with a mage:
    - attacking only with one unit at a time (might attacks) - if u have more units close, his spell damage will increase (double for every units close)
    - using a lot heal/regeneration
    - keeping shooters in range (to have max damage) and near the tree
    - keeping all other troops near that tree and if they are hit with static recharge, move them 1 square from the tree (else they will get a lot of damage every turn)

Well,I leveled only crag hack and had levelcap I think, also pretty good artifacts, simply due to taking me so long to figure the ice barrier out, since nothing happened when you land there w hack.
Anyway, regarding thunderbird, there is/was some sort of spell with magic defense, I used that in the 2nd or 3rd turn whenever hes doing his chain lighting. also I attacked w all units, but whenever I could cast w shamans I did that and also the ranged ones I tried to keep those alive as long as possible and on distance.
It wasnt that easy but luckily I did it on the first try.basically trying to avoid getting too much dmg.therefore I dont unerstand how someone can only attack w 1unit. I attacked always w the most useless/dead units and then attacked w those that made alot more dps.
definately had a 20/20 hero tho aswell,or really close to that.
That would be my plan B suggestion. since u always fight against the same boss str and your army has the same size, check the shops for good artifacts and bump up your stats.

when you play against the thunderbird and it casts the thunder in your troop (on the troops foot there is a lightining icon pulsatiing) move that troop immediately next to the tree. the tree will take the lightning.

implement the new content into the game
