Haha, this is fun Ive only recently gotten assassins creed 1 and I enjoyed it so i opened up steam and saw the assassins creed bundle thingy and decided to buy all 4 games, the reason why i opted to buy these rather then to download these is just because it was less of a hassle OR SO I TOUGHT

untill i saw this UPLAY and it turns out now i cant play any of my games because either the servers are down or my password is "incorrect", money wasted, a few good days wasted on being frustrated and googling like a mad man, i mean really its so nice to buy yourself something that has absolutely no value no use and no purpose since you simply cannot use it.

I'm having the same problem here, keep getting the incorrect password message.
This is the first time I've tried to play GRFS in a week, since with the last uplay update they managed to delete all my saved games and unlocks, and now I can't even play!

Same here. I've had this before, finally finding an hour or two of free time and wanting to play a game (offline), but alas: Uplay is down. Seriously, all this unnecessary crap like Uplay is encouraging pirates. I just want to play a game, right here, right now. Not even multiplayer or anything online. And they don't even have the decency to tell us what's wrong, just "incorrect username or password" when you know that's not the case. I can't believe they can keep on getting away with this.

Ubisoft, your legit customers hate your stupid DRM.

So if you can't play your game without logging into UPlay it then becomes a system designed to prevent illicit copies from being played and thus DRM. Thanks.

Tully, Uplay is DRM. Fake DRM, but still DRM.
And logging onto uplay doesn't work for me either. I'm aware that Ubisoft is trying to solve the piracy problem this way, but it's really bad when because of this draconic measure I can't fully enjoy M&M6 nor ANNO2070 today.
Any word when will could it be fixed or noone at Ubisoft is working today so we'll have to wait till tomorrow?

If UPlay is just a service to enhance my gameplay, why don't I have the option to remove it? You can't actually play the new Ubisoft games on PC without logging into UPlay... No matter how you look at it, it's DRM.

I myself, am having this problem... bought anno 2070 and enjoyed it then uplay crashed causing my game to stop :\ now i cant log back in...

If Uplay not are DRM, so you must call me bob. Homm requires a connection to be able to play it and so it also requires a connection to log on Uplay.

Are you really this stupid or just parroting what others tell you? You know things can have multiple purposes at the same time. U**** is both 1 and most definitely 2.

PS. Today broke the camels back for me. I won't BUY anything from Ubisoft again. You lose a customer that has bought 10+ games from you since you treat us legit customers like crap.

I am also having issues logging on. I just bought Anno, and cannot get by the uplay log on. My account information is accurate (used it to get on here). Oddly when I go to the "create new account" part it states that the servers are down. The handy support links do not seem to work either. I've since had time to do some research and discovering all kings of these threads and DRM issues. Regretting my purchase now....

All of you let me make one thing clear.

1. UPLAY IS NOT DRM.
2. ALL GAMES CAN BE PLAYED WITHOUT UPLAY.

What you miss is the fact that Tully is right.

You need Uplay the first time you wanna play a game just like you need Battle.net at Blizzard the first time you wanna play their games.

But the second a game has been registered and accepted are you able to play the game without the need of loggin in to Uplay or use Uplay per say.

Only thing is the following.

1. Wihtout use of Uplay will your SAVE games be on your PC you play it on ONLY.
2. Games that need special internet access for special things such as HOMM VI with thier Conflux will still work but you will not have Access to the Conflux and the special items.
3. DLC content not downloaded will not work until you have internet access to Download it cia Uplay or the game it selv here i refere to Conflux for HOMM VI.
4. While playing offline will you not be able to get any rewards and all Archievements will not be recorded and saved since you need Uplay for this.

You do not need the Uplay for anything but access everywhere to your save games and for extra experince and to log in and activate the game the first time plus downloading updates.

Also Uplay is DOWN the server sadly it don't tell you that unless you try to make a new ACCOUNT.

Here is how you make a game load in offline mode but this will only work if you have activated the game once via Uplay.

Start the game in Offline mode but keep Uplay set in online mode for when it works again:

1. Double click on the link to the game.
2. You will see it check for updates.
3. It will start the Uplay launcher asking for your password.
4. Press Play game.
5. Game now launche in offline mode and will play.
6. Next time you start Uplay will you have to do this again.

This is how you make the game start directly in offline mode without starting uplay and try to log in:

1. Start Uplay.
2. Press Settings
3. Select and check: Always Start Uplay in Offline mode
4. Press Close
5. Close Uplay
6. Start the Game and it will now start directly.

I "REFUSE" to buy any game requiring a Steam Account as i've had every issue under the sun trying to play there games, I changed over to Ubisoft Games and now am starting to have same B***S**T problems, Username & Password crap. Ubisoft, Listen to your disgruntled customers. I Paid good money for my game and i can't play it because Why? All i want to do is play my game, No on-line crap, just play my **** game.

Nobody ever said battle.net is not a DRM. It has most obviusly become a DRM.
In what way is a service that forces you to go online and registrer you game NOT a DRM?

I just bought Settlers 7 after thinking about it for a long time. And I wish I pirated it instead.
Thats the last ubisoft game I ever bought!

1. UPlay is not DRM. It is a service that is designed to enhnace your game experience with rewards and preserve your game progress between sessions, in some cases on different machines. It would appear from comments on the forums that there is currently a problem with the UPlay servers preventing logging in to UPlay.

2. DRM is digital rights management, a system designed to prevent or deter copying of the game or installing it on more machines than you're entitled to. It is totally separate to UPlay.

"enhance gaming experience" what a bunch of money grabbin jack.... i dont mind anything of sorts to keep the pirates away but if when i gladly pay for something make it bloody work whenever i feel like playing!
