FPS is a slide show!Was running quite nicely indeed after previous beta .E8600 at 4.3GHz / GTX295/3GB RAM .Tired of waiting for this game to mature .ZERO chance of buying sequel .
Did IL2 take THIS long to mature back in 2001 ???!!I got hooked in 2004 .The way this series is going is sad .
Yes, as did Rise of Flight to some extent when it was released. The complaints about IL2 not being playable on "mid-range systems" didn't stop until around 5 years after release when "mid-range systems" had finally well and truly exceeded the "recommended" system specs of the original game. Even than it was sensitive to some system settings and to other software running in background. And by that stage of course there was Forgotten Battles, Ace Expansion Pack and Pacific Fighters each of which increased the performance requirements resulting in quite a few rants about how people were 'going back to the original IL2, at least my system can handle that"....Originally Posted by ytareh

My bad!Issue resolved by rolling back Nvidia beta driver to last 'official' one (June >May2012)
I had a "Dept. store computer" when IL-2 first came out and I had a lot of stuttering problems.
There were also some CTD's when using FMB or playing home-made missions & campaigns.
I also remember having just as much (if not more) trouble with MFS on that same machine.
But IL-2 was "playable" on first release and COD still isn't even after more than a year...
This time around I built my own custom rig just for COD.
And, brother, the joke is on me 'cause now I have a year old rig that can run anything maxed except COD.
Oleg could walk on water compared to those monkeys who are in charge now.
i-7 970, 2xGTX560 275.33, 12gb cheap ram, W7/64U 1680x1050 (native) all settings high except grass=off and forest=low.
New rig with only CLOD and 46 on it. All H/W from NewEgg or Cyberpower.
