Rate GRO Closed Beta with an arbitrary number!

Just post a number, there's no need to explain it if you don't want to.
Just give your arbitrary rating based on the closed beta testing. In most cases we should expect betters numbers upon launch.

    6.9/10

This isn't a D grade like you get in school. Remember, arbitrary number. No significant meaning.

    yea I'd say it's about a 6.5-7/10

It's free, It's a fun game, it's addictive and it fills a big hole in the PC shooter market.

That being said, it really should make some serious improvements in core game play areas like:
map quality - maps are currently far too linear, and of course spawn trapping is an issue that shouldn't even exist.

Matchmaking - It's one thing to say it will improve with a larger player base, but it has a long way to go when you consider it imbalances teams in many ways such as putting multiple FT on one team while the other has none, putting 8 players on one team and the other team has 5 and filling those spots takes far too long, downtime between matches, level imbalance between teams, etc. Some of these will go away with a larger pool of players, but a lot of them will not. It needs to be addressed, and stop being blown off with the "it will improve with more players" mantra. It has problems at it's core that will not be solved by simply adding more players to the pool. To say nothing of the class imbalance that can occur which more players will also not solve since there is no reason to believe that the ratio of players who choose one class over another will change significantly when you go from 1,000 players to 100,000.

UI design - it's very poor currently for a game that only offers online play modes. The fact that the only social interaction available in the game between matches is hidden by default, and doesn't allow players to migrate between specific channels easily (or create their own) is questionable at best.

informational clarity - ie: why do lower lvl guns have better stats than high end guns, what does XYZ stat actually do, how are loot rewards determined, etc. There is lots of room for improvement here.

We'll see how it evolves over open beta I guess but I'm a bit of a pessimist, so I can't say I have high hopes - despite all of these issues being in the best interest of not only the franchise, but the company to fix.

Some of the changes to things like HEAT did not make sense.

Apples/Oranges. Ah well. Fills a niche, but with Minecraft 1.3 coming.....may need a tad more for me to keep forking out some money. M1014 was a nice thing to play with....but I'll save the SG lecture for when someone asks for it.

Personally, I wouldn't have minded the changes as much if 1) they would at least tell us in the patch notes (I'm looking at you, SG ninjanerfs), 2) told us rationale and/or their vision on how the changes were to affect the game, and 3) tweaked only one variable at a time.

Interestingly enough when I was playing with more experienced players, if I could talk to them which was most of the time, they were an incredible asset just by letting them lead and paying attention to what they said. I NEVER got talked down to by a level much higher than myself. That's one of the reasons why I really like this game. I was never called stupid especially when I was doing something clearly stupid. I like the community.
