Thread: Bugged CBU-97 and MER*2 MK83 etc | Forums

1. #1
I found a armament-table for the A-10.
I don't know how accurate it is, but I like what I see in that table.... lots of bombs
So I added the in-game CBU-97 (anti-tank cluster), 1xMK83 and 2xMK83 onto the pylons (along with some GBU-10 and GBU-12).
Only weapon that works is the 1xMK83. The other weapons falls to the ground (as usual) but when they are very close to the ground they suddenly launch in any compass-direction and fly super-fast for maybe 3-4 miles before they explode.
This happens with the following ordnance (which I'd like to see fixed if possible):

<Launcher CLSID="{F3754C5F-3EFB-4E81-BF4E-DF4BEF9F3D36}">MER*2 CBU-97</Launcher>
<Launcher CLSID="{D5D51E24-348C-4702-96AF-97A714E72697}">MER*2 MK-82</Launcher>
<Launcher CLSID="{18617C93-78E7-4359-A8CE-D754103EDF63}">MER*2 MK-83</Launcher>
<Launcher CLSID="{51F9AAE5-964F-4D21-83FB-502E3BFE5F8A}">GBU-10</Launcher>
<Launcher CLSID="{DB769D48-67D7-42ED-A2BE-108D566C8B1E}">GBU-12</Launcher>

Does the GBU (laser guided bombs) work at all with the A-10 in LO-MAC?
I could'nt figure out how to get a laser target-solution working.

to my knowledge the A-10 doesn't have a laser targeting system in LOMAC

I'm Okay with not having the GBUs but I would like to see the MER*2 CBU-97, MER*2 MK-82 and MER*2 MK83 fixed.
Would be nice if the devs made a MER*3 CBU-97 too (I think its reallistic).
Can someone who is a Hog-driver or maintainer post a complete and 100% reallistic loadout for every pylon?
Thanks in advance

There is a MER-3 CBU-97 loadout.

<Launcher CLSID="{F3E2C806-CD30-42A9-8410-3F4030CF45D1}">MER-3*3 CBU-97</Launcher>

There are even MER-6es with MK-81, 82, Rockeye and CBU-97, but I don't think the A-10 carries them . BTW that table lists AGM-65s just single per rack... strange.

I noticed all those MER-2 loadouts being bogus. You can easily see this when switching though bombs in groundmode while watching the CCIP. It sticks to the last position with these bogus bombs/racks. The russian 2x FAB-1500, 3x BetAB-500, 4x FAB/RBK-250 behave the same way.

I'm not Hog Driver/Maintainer however I am a shade sad and heavily into aircraft (I used to fly so thats ok :-)

As far as LGBs go, A-10s are equipped with the Pave Penny MTS (Marked Target Seeker), which is that little (white) pod hanging of the right cheek of the aircraft. that, as fbici5 mentioned can be used to pick up the lasing of a target by another source, be it by special forces or another aircraft and display this location on teh HUD, meaning the Hog Driver can then point the jet to the right place and drop his GBU-whatever down the "cone". Some Pave Penny Info:

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/pave_penny.htm

Recently, A-10s have been flying with the LITENING designator pod carried by other US aircraft (This pod was originally made for the F-16 BLK 42 IIRC). This gives the A-10 a true designation capability. Info here:

As far as other A/G ordnance is concerned I'll see what I can find. My only contact with Military aviation is scale modelling now so I'll check my references. Mers/Ters and Mav triple launchers may look cool but their use is not without massive drag and extar weight, therefore for this reason it is not unsual to have single items, be it a Mk.82, Mk.20 or AGM-65 fitted directly to the pylon.

Another side issue is that the Mk.20 is no longer used by the USAF. The USN/USMC still have stocks of this weapon, however I'm sure when these are depleted they will go the Airforce route and use the CBU-87 (I forget the pod/SUU designation). Cheers, Ed

Edit: That weapons chart is largely incorrect as mentioned. I'll try to dig out a correct version.

A-10 Loadouts froma fellow modeller Kaan. He doesn't have everyloadout here by any means, just some of the most common:
http://www.scaleplastic.com/loadouts/a10a/a10aindex.htm

If you are wonderring what the M260 is, it is another designation for the LAU-68 (I beleive it may be the actually designation of the rocket rather than the pod). Cheers, Ed

Right OK, in that case Kaan used the wrong designation as these should be LAU-68s then on the A-10, not the M-260. Cheers for the link. Ed

Thank you for the loading-table.
When it does'nt say how many of an item on a pylon, does that mean one only or as much as there is space for as long as you are below max take-off weight?

The only MER*2 that I have found that works is the MK20-Rockeye:
<Launcher CLSID="{0B9ABA77-93B8-45FC-9C63-82AFB2CB50A4}">MER*2 Rockeye Mk20</Launcher>
