Purchases with combination of RP and GC | Forums

Currently you can only buy items using RP or GC. Will we be able to pay for items using a combination of RP and GC? I can see business arguments both for and against allowing users to do this: on the one hand, people might buy less GC; on the other hand you might get people, who otherwise wouldn't buy GC, buying a small amount to cover the purchase of expensive equipment ("OOH, I really want that AR-21 now, and I can, if I buy $5 in GC").

I won't be upset if we don't get this ability to do this, but it would be nice.

I was actually thinking of that myself. Would be a nice idea...

That is a nice idea, but if would have to be finely tuned to be beneficial to both the players and the company: Should there be a minimum limit to the amount of GC or RP you can spend on an item? Could this be used with GC-only items, if the percentage spent with GC were great enough? There would also need to be a definitely RP to GC ratio, which I don't think there is, currently, based on Compass's spreadsheet.

That's a great idea. Especially if you aren't wanting to stack your RP to make a larger purchase and not have to buy more GC's if the leftover GC's can cover the difference. But it's like you just said the ratio would have to be figured out. Definitely a great idea Cereal.
