Just finished my cornflakes and coffee here in sunny--well, slightly overcast coastal California; I've hung my beloved "Don't Tread On Me" flag off the balcony, and have started marinating the steaks and chilling the beer. The plan is to watch some John Wayne/John Ford classics interspersed with all the Indiana Jones movies with my sons before grilling the meat and reading the Declaration of Independence aloud with the family before sitting down and gorging ourselves on cornfed beef, homemade baked beans, corn on the cob, baked potatoes with all the fixin's and various salads and garnishes. We'll be watching the fireworks over Coronado tonight before straggling back to our parking place and working our way through the traffic to get home, where my youngest will probably monopolize the i7 computor playing various online games with his pals until the wee hours while his brother and I will get to sleep in tomorrow (I'm taking the rest of the week off, since the facility is going to be largely deserted anyway).

Tomorrow, we'll be at our church, putting together care packages for the folks in the southest of the country that were hit by those bad storms; I hope that those of you in the more benign climate areas will give some thought to doing the same, or possibly finding a way to help the folks caught up in the wildfires in the West.

In any case, thanks for the recognition, and hope that everyone's Fourth is a good one!

    cheers
