I understand from you message that you might have done so already, but please make sure you provide Support with the key that gives you this "invalid key" message, so that we can check were the issue comes from. We're not ignoring further issues, but it sometimes take a little time to investigate this type of issue. Sorry for the wait.

I bought this game today on the summer sales of Steam and it doesn't work. I tried to create the shortcut, I used the .exe file inside steamapp directory, etc...

When you try to launch the game from Steam, it directly opens uPlay interface, then you must to login, start the game and it asks for a CD key (the steam key cannot be used). Its a bucle Steam->Uplay->Can't play with Uplay running->Steam.

I don't know what to do but I'm so disappoint with this : (

    Redownloading from a different source

If I redownload the game (Conviction) from a different source, will I see the game in my Uplay library? thx for answer
(And I like this new uplay thing, it is much better than origin and in a few things even than Steam)

If Ubisoft are serious about making this UPlay a platform for all their games, they really should start addressing issues like that! I really can't understand how other companies want to compete with Steam when they don't try to be half as good!

have cd keys for extra things on AC rev

Was able to make Uplay see Assassin's Creed Revelations that I bought through steam. When prompted for a CD key I input the standard key; However, I have keys for the Ancestors Character Pack, Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack and the Lost Archive. I am not sure if Uplay has already registered the DLC or if I somehow need to add the CD keys that I have.

You need to enter all 3 codes in extras menu in singleplayer.

Exactly, if they serious about Uplay, they should allow all of us to bypass Steam.

EA has done this on Origin, All new EA Game can be downloaded/activated via Origin, what so hard about it?

Since ubisoft arent allow us to play Ubisoft game on steam without Uplay, I am now actually willing to ditch Steam just to use Uplay only.

And BTW for games I have both in Steam and retail versions tied to Uplay there is another thing.
I have AC2 installed from Steam. It works fine when I launch it from Steam. But I also have retail cdkey attached to my account so when I run Uplay directly I see AC2 in my games library. Uplay believes AC2 retail to be installed because instead of "download" I have a "play" button here. But it gives error. And for silly reason. According to log this error occurs only because Uplay tries to launch game's own auto-updater (which is absent in steam version because steam handles updates) first. A simple change in logic to "if auto-updater not found then just launch game itself" can fix this. After all previous Launcher could handle this easy task somehow.
Right now its too confusing to most players who dont want to dig so deeply into how your new Launcher works and will just spam support.
I had similar problem with ACR. I got retail, activated on my account, then bought ACR GOLD edition on Steam, but for that, tech supprot told me the noly way to play that steam GOLD edition is to bind it to a new UPlay account. So I had to make a new UPlay account for that game only, which sux as there I don't have any uplay points and stuff and not to mention that it broke my collection. I asked to bind that new account wtih my regular, or to unbind (delete, deactivate or whatever) that retail copy from my regular account. But - NO. Only to make a new account.
