Thread: New Uplay Client available Today! [UPDATED] | Forums

  1. #41
Well I dont like the new client. Nothing but problems so far. First it I had issues with the client telling me my cd key for Homm 6 was already in use. The support tells me to reinstall the ubisoft client, so I did. Now the client keeps on crashing everytime I try to start it. So now I cant even play a singel Ubisoft game...
    Anyone else having this issue?
    I'm running win 7 64bit

it was doing it around that time flatout, then in a couple hours I tried again and uplay wouldn't sign in and uplay launcher itself was in "offline mode" (so the game clearly wouldn't work) then I checked my setup to make sure it wasn't my end, I detected no problems and relaunched again about 30 mins later and everything was working perfectly, then the next day I had a similar such issue taking two launches of ACR (the first one inexplicably failed once ingame) but the second time it worked perfectly

    Thumbs up

After Ubisoft Game Launcher upgraded to Uplay 2.0 most of my games ask me for activation key, when i enter my key, that i entered before, i obviolsy get "key is in use", and cannot re-activate game and in result cannot play it.

Why Uplay 2.0 doesnt check my account keys and dont allow me to play games that already activated long ago?

Also new client lacking separate feature (like Steam and Origin have) or button "activate code\game" so i can activate any game cd-key even if it not installed and download it from Uplay client.

Also Steam versions now became a mess!
I bought some games on steam, but i dont want to have 2 memory and cpu consuming heavy client to slow down my game, and i dont want to wait 5 minutes to Steam to launch to launch game exe to launch Uplay exe then press "go to game' and "play game" to finally launch **** game! I just want to launch game exe, want it launch silently minimized to tray Uplay without showing its window and loading browser core, all the crappy ADS baners, twitts and loads of heavy pictures and other crap... i want to get directly to game without overloading my limited (32 bit only 3.2 gb, 1.5 of it eaten by system, you need to start saving RAM from crap) after i click icon without pressing 2 times "go there" and "play this" and watching like 2 clients loads like 2-5 minutes (depending on PC and Internet speed). Is it so hard to understand Ubi???
Im not saying you must remove Uplay, just make **** launch of game transparent as it was during initial launch of Uplay with AC2 and SCC (it counted like 5 seconds and autolaunched game).
Also there should be an option to launch steam bought games without steam and to redownload them via Uplay.

And what the deal with Call of Juarez 3? It shows game as unactivated if i launch it exe, but asks everytime if i want to bind game to Uplay - there is something wrong with all that new activation\launch chaing and model in Uplay new client.
Massive did a bad job this time...

I second many of the complaints by Voodooguy above. Ubisoft has been hailing Uplay as the solution to all possible problems. So be it, we can't get rid of it. But have you tried yourself to launch any game and opened a task manager or process explorer?

There's no program on my computer that takes as much time to load on my 8-core+8G Core i7 system, not even the snail-slow Eclipse Juno. There's gotta be something wrong there when I have to wait at least 60 to 100 seconds before the marvelous Uplay deigns to show its pretty interface.

Second, I've already said it and I'm saying it again, why can't this program save which version of DirectX we want to launch a game in? Why do we have to go through so many clicks and screens? Why can't we just click on the game's large icon and JUST launch it?

And when we've launched a game without the overlay, why oh why do we have to go through the same bloody warning about overlay being necessary to a game that works perfectly fine without it?

Anyway, all that is so ANNOYING! And I'm only playing hawx2 as that single experience effectively quelled any desire I could have for another great Ubi game.

[EDIT] And what is that osi.exe that is launched by Uplay.exe? Come on, people!
