I fixed 90% of my errors by uninstalling and re installing WITHOUT the updates. I play maxed out smoothly.

that's because Volumetric Lighting does not work correctly without the patch. you can tell because the sunrays are either not there at all are much less noticeable compared to the patched version of the game. hence the better performance of v1.0. might as well patch the game and set Volumetric Lighting to Medium or Low. you should get about the same performance.

@topic: i7 2600K, 7970 OC, 8GB DDR3. game runs more or less without problems. occasional crash in multiplayer, and i had to disconnect my joystick for the mouse to work in-game.
