Having reread my post it a bit trollish and I apologise. My interpretation of the gameplay and world that has been presented so far, is that it leans towards a more Deus Ex HR style realism. Granted, we only have a very slim amount of info to go on, but from the trailer you appear to be on the run - the hunter and the hunted - and I don't see vehicle customisation fitting into that world without breaking the tense atmosphere. Spraying my car in GTA3 was cool, novel, a fun mechanism for getting rid of the cops and in keeping with the games aesthetic but eleven years later you want a feature so you can just cruise around. It just seems that you want a feature that chimes with your interests rather than what would make the game better. Now I cover my arsenal, if the developers can implement such a feature appropriately, then great and I'm sure I'll thoroughly enjoy it.

In the interests of full disclosure, I am 39 years old and have been playing games for over 30 years and want to see holodecks before I die, so I always want newer, better, different, challenging things from games. The greatest work has arguably been accomplished in almost every other medium. Will we better Shakespeare, Beethoven, Picasso etc, it seems unlikely, but the greatest game hasn't been made yet and looking back isn't going to get it made.

Wow, sort of went off on one there. Again, sorry for the tone of my previous post. I won't post grumpy again and will act my age.

PS Seriously, nice slippers, proper hammock and a laptop and I'm happy for hours.

To be honest, I thought it was a serious point of debate, so I wasn't offended at all. My views aren't always correct so people have the right to disagree if they want to. No harm done

It's a good point though; the whole personalisation thing probably wouldn't cohere with the rest of the game if it is to have tension as a key element of the story and gameplay.

However if there is some free-roaming, depending on how the story evolves personalisation would give players a better sense of immersion I guess. (At this point I'm probably just speaking for myself)

Lol, every forum for open world games always has those people that are die-hard crazy for car customization :P

Meh it wouldn't make much difference for me. I prefer aircraft over automobiles. Speaking of which, when will be get new Watchdogs info!?!?!?! I hope at Gamescon.

    That's probably bacause every forum has me on it with exactly the same name;

    Saints Row Community
    GTAForums
    Sleeping Dogs Forum

An open world requires travel, so why not do it in style? Or in an enjoyable fashion at least; yes I do very much like helicopters

Hmm I'll have to look for you on GTAForums... Maybe that WAS you :P

And yeah I see your point; car customization is always fun. Especially if you can upgrade your vehicles performance, (i.e. Engine, Nos, etc.) like in Mafia II.

And yeah I would be very happy if we can fly helicopters in watch dogs -- but I'd be even happier if we could fly planes! Oh boy, then we'd have a real GTA-competitor!

I totally agree with you, planes would definitely put Watch Dogs on par with GTA in vehicular respect.

Performance modifications are cool, and I would like to see them, but the problem with including performance modifications is that if the list is extensive not everybody may know what they do.

I saw there would be some odd free-roam places to visit, I saw a cocktail glass on the map near the expo. This may suggests that Ubisoft are looking to include some features to keep us entertained while not on a storyline mission, back on topic this could mean that car customisation may fit into the game then if there will be some free roam fun integrated in the game.

So give us a shop that we can get a custom paintjob and change wheels and I'm a happy guy

Maybe not you, but other people do. Thank you for your useless post :|

@ I AM ALIVE, Using vehicle appearances and clothing appearances as a police tracking method sounds interesting, maybe customising these elements could help keep the police off Aiden's tail.
