Universal Friendly Fire or Frag Friendly Fire? Because if there is Universal Friendly Fire, there's going to be grief and a lot of Recons losing full cloak bars.

    I LOVE friendly fire!!!

In fact GRO is the first shooter I play which only has a friendly fire off mode (except for the grenades). If a multiplayer game had the option for friendly fire then that's the only mode I played! So absolutely YES!

BUT I'm not sure how that will work with non-collision player models. Guess there has to be a collision detection between the player models of the same squad then (I believe there is a collision detection with the players of the enemy's squad).
And of course we need a kind of punishment system which kicks for intentional teamkilling. But every game with ff-on managed that successfully so I don't think that would be a problem.

As stated above I only played games with ff-on before GRO and none of them had any Problems with teamkilling. Teamkilling players were simply kicked from the match when they hit a pre-defined ammount of teamkills. Problem solved. It even encourages the players to pay more attention and be more carefull when throwing grenades or shooting at players
Of course that applies for accidental teamkills too. So best thing is they build in a punish/forgive system for teamkills

Since your teammates aren't persistent (you can walk through them), I would find it curious if you could shoot them. With a lack of in-game tutorial for playing (not using the shop), it would case unnecessary frustration with new players and grievers.
And I don't agree with cirem because one griever can make you lose the entire match because of the small teams and respawn timers. Maybe it doesn't matter in other games in modes like TDM, but taking one point in Conquest and holding it is enough to win a match and when you get grieved, you might as well quit. Personally I don't see the merits in this particular case.

5 people on point + 1 griefer with a frag = dead team.

1 person + 1 griefer at spawn = you're dead for the round

I would not mind ff, but as stated:
    1. Someone can screw over an entire team and ruin the game
    2. Lot's of recons (campers in general) will have problems as well as the teammates losing their patience and lack of creativity.
    3. Accidental teamkills will occur as well.
    4. People could throw themselves in someone's line of fire (with that intention) to have another player kicked (=> or am I the only one that would do that?).

    Possible solutions (I think):
As cirem said: a forgive/punish system
    Immediate respawn on teamkill
    Best a combination of both.

friendly fire would add a much more realistic and strategic aspect to the game which i think could improve it alot, it forces people to watch what theyre doing even more and further discourages wanton deathmatches like in cod or something
however as most people have pointed out it will probably bring along alot of problems with griefers or even accidental teamkills, possible solutions have been mentioned to that, another one might be a votekick options from the players? that way accidental teamkills arent punished as much as an autmotic system would.
also maybe keep the ff but nerf it in a way that directly targeting a teammate wont let you fire on them? like a trigger lock sort of thing. considering we're furturistic and special forces soldiers that sort of technology isnt too hard to imagine, and at the same time a trigger lock wouldnt prevent alllll ff action since guns arent always accurate and people will move around and stuff
    in any case im guessing this is the last patch before openbeta so better decide quick devs(;
