Lightbulb substantial contribution to FF kills before kick

First of all, I am all for FF, as it makes for a more tactical game - there are ways of knowing where your mates are: the map and the blue ID square spring to mind.

I also like the trigger lock idea, as it befits the high tech setting, and should block the most blatant attempts at team killing (point blank head-shot sort of thing).

Alternatively, for a team kill to count, the game could require your damage to be a substantial contribution (say more than two thirds) to the kill, not just the last hit-point.
Assault classes can usually see what they are shooting at, and snipers are usually picking targets pretty deliberately anyhow.
With that in place, an automatic kick-system might work well.

Otherwise of course, do what everybody else does and go with the punish/forgive system, which was mentioned already and seems to work well.
You could even extend that system to any team interference that impacts on device use as was pointed out as a possible grief target.

Honestly, I am not convinced that the non-cliping with teammates will be much of a problem.
Clearly, you step in front of a sniper at your own risk, and few people enjoy taking a bullet. Everybody else can see you.

The Friendly Fire would make the game more realistic but in any game there are people who call themselves "trolls" and those are the people that would abuse this feature. I vote for NO just because I don't want to be shot from someone that is actually marked as a friendly to me.

Maybe there should be both options, FF-off for more casual play and FF-on for tactical play with fireteams?
