Lightbulb Default Ability Sets - Overwrite

I don't know if anyone's brought this up for AC3 yet. Having default sets so that new players aren't screwed is a great idea, but it was poorly implemented in AC:R. Once you level up and grow beyond the need to use the default sets, they just sit there like a tumor, getting in the way of your other sets when you're trying to flip through them after being killed. It would be a great improvement, I think, if you could overwrite or delete them after a certain level. Maybe even after level 50, I dunno. I'd just like to have the option to get rid of them after a certain point. Or even 'hide' them, making them inaccessible until you toggle a 'Default Profile Set' option somewhere or something.

I don't even think we need default sets my first game of AC:B for PS3 I got a 10k.

Keep in mind I had a few days experience (total time) in AC:B for the 360, but I was able to cash out on the other team, with no smoke, no poison, no abilities just because I had experience in the game.

I always assumed they didn't give you abilities at the beginning because they wanted you to learn not to rely on abilities, something which default sets don't teach.

I agree with your philosophy here 100% but the problem is that they're trying to appeal to the widest audience possible. There are a lot of purists here who want the game to champion stealth and observation over all else, but Ubisoft isn't just making the game for us. They're appealing to the CoD trigger-happy players as well. More than that, they also want to make the game accessible to players who have never picked up an Assassin's Creed title before, let alone the multiplayer aspect. It can also be highly frustrating if you're a new player and you get dumped into a lobby with higher-level players who have these amazing abilities and are just brutalizing you with them. I won't argue with the decision to include Default Sets (I doubt Ubisoft would at all consider removing them anyways). What I want is the ability to remove them, customize them or hide them once you've grown past the need for them, otherwise they become a burden and an annoyance.

I always thought the default profiles should simply be bumped backwards to the end of your list instead. Whats really silly though is the fact that there were only 5 profiles AGAIN. There should have been 2 or 3 per game type. They added 3 more match types and removed 1 yet they didn't add any profiles so players are forced to have to edit profiles constantly. ITS STUPID AND WRONG.

I agree that they're not evolving the player experience quick enough to match all the changes that they're making. Ultimately they're creating a more irritating experience for the players.

ACR's learning curve is too bad. You basically got everything at lv22 and then its up to the player who can get lost. Maybe its one of the additional reasons why everyone is using same sets and abilities. ACB really encourages to try everything with totally free abilities and much higher lv requirements.
But about default sets. I found them to be very good, bad perks and loss streaks. But abilities and kill streaks are in very good combinations if you know how to use them to their full potential.

When you first pick up the game...

No abilities unlocked. BUT you have 2 - 3 pre-made sets.

After you've hit level 50, or maybe they could stretch it out to Prestige 2 or 3, you should be given the ability to modify those profiles as well.

Or, to fit in with having to buy profile sets, the ability to modify those sets can be unlocked at 50 or Prestige 1/2/3 etc. and then the player has to buy the set like normal.

How do you find the sets good, I felt like the abilities they gave you contradicted each other. Knives are a very good "on the go" ability for either offense or defense, while tripwire are usually associated with slow moving turtles, why would they combine the two?Disguise it more of a "lalala I am an NPC" "Stealth" ability, while firecrackers are one the the biggest giveaways that a player is nearby and if you argue about throwing firecrackers, a player would probably get suspicious about the deacon going into the throw position even if they know another persona is after them, I don't see any reason to include firecrackers on a disguise set.I'd love for you to tell me how you can play that would synergies the default sets, but It seems like they could've replaced one ability on the sets to make them so much better, I'd rather have almost any other ability on my disguise than firecrackers, and I'd rather have almost any other ability on my knives than tripwire but it really seems like they made that class just for AA, which AA defense is one of the only situations I believe the combo would work well on.And I'm not being sarcastic, tell me how you use the sets well and I'll try it out and see if I like it, I've been running Disguise since the first time I played AC:B, and I see no reason why anyone would want to include firecrackers in with disguise.
