This is only my third post here because I've been having too much fun testing the game to get over here and say something. Thought I'd correct that while waiting for the patch today.
Ingame, I go by the moniker 'SigSoldier'. I chose that name because I served in the US Army Signal Corp and it just seemed appropriate. For those who are interested, I was assigned to 1st plt, B Company, 127Th Sig Bn, 7th ID(Light) from 1983 to 1985. Haven't been communicating much ingame for the last few days because a kitten chewed through the cable to my headset. The nearest place to get another is a Wally World, which is a 40 mile round trip and I would spend more on gas than on the headset. So I've ordered one and it should be here anyday.
I'm a printer, by trade. I retired in 2002, due to health concerns, after 24 years in the field. I'm a bookworm and a student of military history. I've been gaming for over 45 years, starting with the basics such as chess and battleship, then moving on to playing most of the boardgame titles by Avalon Hill, SSI and others. With the intro of personal computers in the late '70s, I added computer games to my portfolio.
I'm certified in 6 programming languages, have training in several others and I was on the internet 8 years before Al Gore invented it. When I went online for the first time, the top connection rate was 300 baud/sec. Kinda puts the current lag issues into perspective.
I've been beta testing for over 20 years and have participated in tests ranging from various incarnations of Windows and other MS software, Netscape, Firefox, business applications and, of course, games.
Well, 'tis time for the game to be back. See ya'll soon!
